Southernstorm - I think you have misunderstood the purpose of listing on AIM. The whole point is to access risk capital investment for companies that are too early/small/unprofitable to raise capital anywhere else. That kind of risk capital does not in fact take any risks, it's interested mainly in turning guaranteed marginal profits on discounted shares (margins which are usually soaked up by more risk oriented retail investors). PIs contribute nothing to the company because they never put a penny into the company, they just trade second hand shares with each other. No-one is going to run a company for the therapeutic benefit of PIs. They are only relevant insofar as they can raise the share price when needed.

Why not wait until you’ve read the content before judging?

This will be the first investor presentation published on the company website since the 2023 AGM, i.e. since the Itumbula drill, so it’s definitely a move on the market and presumably a prelude to bringing in new investors (which is what today’s summit is all about). It’s not likely there will be much new information but using the RNS this morning does cover them for that possibility.

Utterly bonkers PubCrawl, as anyone knows, I’ve been consistently optimistic on HE1’s growth prospects for years since before the first drill at Tai. Like most people, I lost a good bit of money on the failure to declare discovery in 2021, so I’m reasonably cautious with good reason. But I’m invested again and in profit so all good for now. Your posts add nothing to the share price and risk misleading other investors.

Unfortunately it has long been part of the boiler room armoury to make targeted discussion boards unusable or unwelcoming to new investors, either through spamming or conflict.

Other investment options are available Ra11adw2. The attraction of the BCE in the first place (when it was ADV) was that they had an industry experienced board with a long term growth strategy. This merger and drill was a revision of that strategy (onshore, lower risk to the previous venture etc). If it does get them to first base as a cash flow business then the more interesting growth plans come after that.

Speaking at these events is all part of generating new investor interest, along with the Liberum broker note etc. The brokers will be building a book and the raise will be pretty much in the bag before it’s announced.

Yes, and Libereum is the joint broker for this share. As with every other broker note on AIM it’s a thinly veiled prospectus for a fund raise. No surprise, as there is a great case to be made for investment here, but important to read these things in context.

It's a risky business, four out of five drills will hit a hitch of some kind, this one has a better chance than most though. You'll also get a lot of selling on news either way, so the shorts will be hoping it doesn't rise too much before the news comes, hence the need for advance FUD

Do you want to explain how it has made any 'mates' rich quick over the time since this board took over, versus the amount of money those board members and mates put in themselves at the outset and since? I can't see how that works.

roughly $200bn a year from the O&G sector and $100bn from the mining sector is quite a lot. There are some weaknesses and vulnerabilities in governance but they have been consistently improving. Overall they rank somewhere around the middle as a place to do business these days, but they do have a strengthening policy position on ensuring that extractive industries benefit the country and the people as a priority so things like indigenous company structure and internal relations are really important.

I guess it's a fair gamble to short a potential 'sell on news' event here, and probably still 50:50 on whether they pull off the commercial flows at first attempt, but there's risk in a leveraged short position as the anticipatory price is likely to keep rising for a couple of weeks at least before there's news.
