Dollop........great word that Connie.......sort of rolls off the tongue, sounds as though it relates more to porridge or wallpaper paste, is a dollop greater than a wad in cash terms ? (only jesting).

'shares buy back'.....have I missed something ?

Dollop of cash without dilution would indeed be very welcome, doubt that however will be the case given the intended reduction in nominal value the point of which is to allow the company to issue new shares (new shares cannot be issued at a price below the nominal value, currently 1p). I remain (quietly) confident in the long term and although I already have a significant holding I am pestering my broker to see if I can subscribe to any new shares via BRD's broker, in order to maintain my current slice, and would suggest other interested parties do likewise. The size of 'dollop' required is the main question, I am anticipating at least £250,000 which at 0.4p would result in the issue of 62,500,000 new shares, so inevitable dilution is significant. I however don't intend spoiling this ship for a ha'porth of tar.

Apologies for the off topic but Newfield Resources not on this site. Was wondering how any former Stellar Diamonds holders went on finding economical custody/dealing facilities for their new shares.

My confidence in BRD has, at times, been well and truly tested over the last few years, with issues including production levels, forex rates, weather, diamond prices, the presidential campaign, and more recently the Visser situation taking their toll on the share price at various times. One thing I've learnt from investing is that the market always reacts/overreacts badly to any degree of uncertainty, so with the last mentioned item soon to be resolved and some 'anticipated' decent production/sales figures to come I can see a nice group of little ducks preparing to stand to attention in a neat row, on the horizon.

Well and truly fully loaded at present and not in a position to top up but certainly not prepared to sell any at anywhere near the current price.

Yeah, my top up at 3.38p appears as a sell. Worth a punt at this price I reckon.

Trading in BRD shares following the March placing was pretty sparse, last week's issue has resulted in quite heavy trading with purchases outweighing the sales.

........what to make of today's trading pattern, mainly large early sales followed later by mainly large purchases, will sleep on it, maybe clearer tomorrow with details of major shareholders increasing their stake. No warrants attached to today's placing.

Large sales going through, existing shareholders jumping ship or subscribers at 1.2p making a quick turn ?

Have to agree with you at the moment, fundraising becoming more frequent than quarterly reports (10 weeks !), interesting to see who has subscribed this time though.

Last trade at 1.422p was a buy, family member keeps topping up from dividends received on other stocks.

Hi Disruptor, your own research is probably the best basis to make any decision with this one but remember it is an AIM listed security. Seems ludicrous now that the share price ever hit 33p and certainly won't get anywhere near that again. Not very likely that they will unearth any biggies at Kareevlei but good quality stones appear to be in the case. I am hoping for some good results for the rest of the year and remain cautiously optimistic, good luck whatever your decision.

You will not lose your new NWF shares, they will be issued to your current provider from where you can transfer them to IG. May drag on a bit dependent on facilities X-O and IG have access to but you have not lost anything due to the transfer failing. You can no longer be issued with a Stellar certificate, it is now like the proverbial Norwegian Blue parrot.

If you have a certificate for your Stellar holding then your broker may already not wish to enter into any sales. You would need to get the certificate and signed Crest transfer to your broker in order to allow them time to process the transaction before the register closes this Thursday. If they allow you to sell your holding and it remains unsettled beyond Thursday the transaction will have to be settled by the transfer of Newfield shares, you would therefore not receive the sale proceeds for several weeks. Nominee/ISA/SIPP holdings are normally traded on a T plus 2 basis so any sales executed tomorrow would settle first thing Thursday morning without any problem. If you are thinking of selling any later than that I would advise you to check with your broker. Good luck.

Could do with finding a few rocks of the size some 'appear' in the website, just wishful thinking. Still in here heavier than I perhaps should be, latest projections appear positive, if achieved, so remain optimistic.

Not an HL client myself but the dealing charges quoted appear quite typical and very reasonable. Although alternative brokers will be available it is most likely that they would only offer similar arrangements to those HL have in place, so commission/overseas brokerage charges also likely to be similar. Don't know what HL charge for transferring UK/Aussie stocks to another custodian but am sure that HL will also want to pass on any charges incurred by HSBC for transferring Newfield. Advisable to ask about potential charges before making any decision which should not be left until the last minute. Stellar holders who have stock in their own name will receive a statement (not a certificate) in respect of their Newfield shares.

So Stellar holders can transfer their shares to IG, sell the resulting Newfield shares at any time, and be paid the sale proceeds all for $10 ? Don't think so, it would make pretty poor business sense on IG's behalf for what is likely to be a one off client transaction. Charges incurred for the transfer out from current custodians also have to be taken into consideration, which for smaller holdings may prove to be uneconomical. Although the last day for dealing in Stellar is the 26th April, anyone wishing to sell leaving it late runs the risk of market makers not wishing to trade as any such trade can only be settled in Newfield shares. Client settlement proceeds are likely to be delayed for any trades remaining open as at the close of business on the 26th April, the degree to which is down to the facilities available to the broker concerned. For the record I intend to remain a holder.

True, true, very true, personally okay with being a smaller fish in a bigger pond as long as there's more food in it, which there appears to be by getting K1 into production. Bottom line with this company is always going to be about the quantity and quality of what they manage to extract. One warrant per share subscribed for (possible further dilution) at 3p seems very generous but I'd be happy if the warrants became in the money before their expiration date. Although we have had no update on the Visser situation I interpret that the placing indicates that it is not considered a major issue. NOT HAPPY about ordinary shareholders not being given the opportunity to take part.
