Government showed no hand to support the shop keepers on the high street. They have no interest in that area. Government is forward looking and are welcoming the online companies…. Be it the Chinese. Nonetheless it’s an online company. The message is clear… High street for retail is dying and will have a make over into a different realm.

As this is a cyclical stock…. The tide will eventually turn. Just a matter of time. Keep strong lth.

If the results are shocking, Barker is clearly working in the wrong field. This guy is an expert In risk management and finance. I could be wrong but I doubt very much he added on a punt at this stage.

Classic U.K. government desperate on all accounts. When it suits them, they are either live by ESG or ignore it. Selling their bum hol* for SHEIN. To list here shows they will do anything. Conservative definitely not getting my GE vote.

Barker is no ordinary investor. His background is finance and investments through his investment house. This will come with models / scenarios / positions at critical junctures. The fact that he has decided to place some fantastic purchases now shows not only confidence in the retail market to me but Asos being one of the players that will still remain in the game. He is a money hungry individual so he clearly believes a lot of money is now to be made.

It’s a matter of time before SHEIN is publicly listed and a hedge funds wet dream.

Two things that standout to me.

1. No investment from either Kamani / Kane …. They were happy to pay circa £2 a share in covid to rescue the drop. Why not 36p?

2. Kamani after that 8-10% margin…. Maybe to get the deal over the line

The buyer could be anyone’s guess but Fraser are clearly in the picture. Are they buying a stake on behalf of someone? Or being pumped money by another party to buy the stakes?

You have to ask yourselves these questions.

My theory and it is a theory so don’t get excited… is that boohoo may have already negotiated a potential trade but are waiting to prove on the deal.

Desk is…. If the negotiated KPIs are realised esp around U.S then I believe a deal will come through. Whatever that looks like.

We know the Kamanis are very shrewd and have a plan in place. Who knows… we may look back at this in 12 months and say…. How the Kamanis dealt with this …. Actually makes sense.

Time will tell of course. In the meantime time…. All we can do is wait until the big day in May where details should be announced on how they have been performing.
