this just confirms what i have been saying for a while, that a rights issue is coming, perhaps as soon as September 2021. Furlough ending on September 30, 2021. costs will bite over the autumn/ winter months. Money raised from last September's rights issue would have been depleted through cash burn. Qatar Airways would already have been consulted. Private investors on this board can't say they had not been warned.
House of Fraser Group were down as there was a mandatory shutdown of stores, nothing in it other than that.
Investing in boohoo is high risk with the likes of shein taking rapid market share, they will leave nothing but a few crumbs for the likes of asos and boohoo, then more players will come online as there is very little barriers to entry.
If they had 10bn cash available, assume this was available last year, then why the rights issue last year, what is the cash burn since, how much cash burn in the near future. Near future is all about more cash burn
I have been warning for a while that IAG will need to do another rights issue, my expectation is end of september as they will then know what the debt is after the peak period and how much to request from shareholders deep pockets.
more like a big buyer who is getter more desperate to build the stake, they got the low hanging fruit using fear and breaking stop losses, but now need to go further up the tree as the trading statement was super positive.
WOW Kall. Excellent, so ABF small investors will now also be able to get same expert thoughtful running analysis that greatly helped PFD small investors.
I believe the 5-6% was for 1st half, ceo was not able to guide further than this.
Q2 growth last year over 2019/20 Q2 growth was +8.1%
It is possible to beat this in 2021-2022 Q2, international can play a big part to achieving this.
misread - possible in Q2 if a further lockdown or restrictions imposed, not possible in Q1
guided 5-6% after first 6 weeks sales over 2 years
"Growth over Q2 last year would be a massive achievement…..is that likely ?"
100% unlikely as the company has already guided 5-6% after first 6 weeks sales, likely to beat this as it will be an own goal if not higher.
Are we still on track for rights issue number 2 in September who are the illusionists still think this company is sitting on a mountain of cash. Having to pay towards furlough must be increasing cash burn at a faster rate.
sugar tax story was after yesterday's falls. I suspect just a lot more sellers over a short period time. Hopefully will bounce back to the normal 108 to 109p where there appears to be a big buyer who is mopping up the sold shares.
A lot will now depend on trading update next week. A test for the new CEO to see if he shows his high spending expensive marketing exuberance is working or NOT.
still beating the market, even with is fall. Looks like ASOS must be taking advice from Gavin Darby and blaming weather for underformance.
I am assuming the growth monkeys are not have a fun time after ignoring PFD and indicating it was easy money elsewhere.
I can remember some-one saying they had 40 years experience in investment and can easily make money else where, at the same time waiting for PFD to fall to 70p. Good to het his or her view now.
Good for those who stuck with PFD
A few weeks there were a lot of chatter about PFD going down to 70p and a lots of opportunity in the growth stocks, likes of cineworld was quoted by Luckylurcher I believe, some-one mentioned Greencore.
Great to get feedback from these investments compared to PFD
Those who have not read the financial report. IAG have a debt of £9.76B, most mistake cash to having access to liquidity which is not the same having cash.
If they had so much money in the bank then why was there a rights issue last year and how much has been the cash burn since then. Can you answer these
September looks to be the best time for RI. At this point they will know how summer business went or did not happen, also any goverment support to see if furlough is extended.
To issue a rights issue, a company needs to know how much to ask the shareholders, by September they will know. The money from Rights issue will then carry them through the winter.
Last year this was done in September with money from shareholders in the bank by October.
how much of the 50 tons a week is from greencore

Tesco, the UK’s biggest supermarket chain, is understood to have informed the UK Government's Department of Transport that its suppliers are being forced to bin nearly 50 tonnes of fresh food every week because there are too few lorry drivers to transport produce to stores
