Elrico I wasn't addressing you - hindsight refers to those slating using Macquarie for convertible debt, not what Macquarie are actually doing, which I have no problem with. My view of them at the time was the debt was cheap. Now my view is rather more positive because they got out of the way rather quickly

Sensible to get the bad news out there before next announcement although there has been no mercy on dropping some more bad news. The writing makes it look like there is nothing further to come "management have now undertaken a full review of the balance sheet"

Playtowin a better method is to take net asset value and knock off the bullsh*t (goodwill and pension scheme) which leaves the business valued at c.£125. With mkt cap of £225m it is still a strong buy as clearly it is generating much more cash than profit which is another buy signal in the contracting domain

My only grievance is I hate it when contracting companies hide behind weekly or monthly cash balances. Just tell us the average daily so we know you are not cherry-picking the day before the payment runs or after the receipts!

I largely agree with Thunder, when the regulator sorts itself out I will buy in further. VANQ have a skilled and enthused management team. However, at present, you can literally use one computer to bring down a bank which is absurd

However a lot of refurbishments were put on hold during Covid, the financing remains a cloud (although it doesn't bother me one jot) and Tim is clearly battle hardened and you would think is building a war chest to deploy in case of further government disruption

An aggressive approach by an institutional investor would boost the share price although I would be happy if they plodded along building their hotel estate
