Agree. Had a nice trade on ASOS this morning so that is my lot for today. Holding a small tranche here as good to be able to tell people that I own part of AM. Always in the look out for good UK companies but must confess ten to mainland follow the US stocks. Best UK stock that I can find in terms of constant profitability is GAW which just about sums us up. I am off for the day now so good luck all.
Mad Jim Cramer predicted the US pull back so I bailed out of my FAANG stock plus sold my Tesla and Nvidia as well. Perhaps we can message old Cramer to see what he thinks of AML. I can probably guess something like ‘if they don’t make any profits and are deep in debt best sell’.
Tech stocks down and heading for large falls. This often leads to investors looking to put their monies in to out of favour stocks such as AML. Could see the SP make a bit of a recovery but not that much until we see some positive numbers coming out.
Most of the big stocks have dipped so agree can see a general correction happening which was bound to happen in view of the large rises. This one has 5 bagged along with many others.
Very odd day with such a wild swing. Been a great few months since March. Suspect we will see more volatility from here now.
Interesting points. I have traded this a bit and done okay. Do hold a small number of shares so I can always say I own some of AM. Agree that we will see another bounce at least and can then see this bouncing along until something is sorted out. One things is for sure you cannot ignore the quality of the product which Merc will be attracted to.
Can see this now going much lower in to the 40s maybe even down to the 30s again until we get some positive news. It is not going anywhere that far north either until we start to see a profit being made which I know is obvious.
Just hold on to those shares and you can tell anyone you own part of AM to impress your friends and neighbours. Just a bit off track but they are so good they will soon be back. Remember this: https://blog.v-hr.com/blog/5-ways-aston-martin-dominates-the-automotive-market
Still my Tesla share up over 10% following the stock split which was predicted as many investors don’t grasp stock splits and think they are getting a good deal. Still one of those lifetime holds me thinks now. Sorry to go off track.
All signals are this is looking likely to rise this week by At least 15%. Tomorrow prediction 59. Went and saw the latest DBX in the showroom of our local dealer. Does look good in the flesh. It has already been reserved. Not sure what the difference is between reserved and sold. GLA.
My older brother had one of the early TVR Grantura back in the 60s. He is a racing nut and spends all his time watching F1 or any racing. My elder sister also went out with a racing nut but he had one hand missing which he lost on a racing track having had it run over, ouch! He had these various false hands which he used to put on depending if he was driving or going out for the evening. Fast cars has always run in the family or with their friends.
I am buying in as can see from talking to my Chinese friends and business colleagues that they all love the look of the DBX. Showed my daughter the pictures today and she did say she thought it is the best looking SUV she has seen. I must admit it does look good and believe will turn this companies fortunes around. You must admit that the Bentley SUV looks pretty rubbish in comparison. Can see this back at £2.00 over time based and so worth buying in at this price which I am doing for a long term hold.
Still back to more important things. Gold finger must be the best James Bond movie with Sean Connery at his best, wearing a tux under his wetsuit and ordering a martini "shaken, not stirred." Indelible images include Shirley Eaton's death by gilded body paint, Honor Blackman's innuendo as flygirl Pussy Galore, Harold Sakata's lethal aim as the hat-throwing Oddjob and Gert Frobe's master villainy as Auric Goldfinger (he's out to rob Fort Knox). "Do you expect me to talk?" an anxious Bond asks after Goldfinger straps him to a table with a laser heading right to his crotch. "No, Mr. Bond," comes the classic reply. "I expect you die." the gadget-loaded Aston-Martin, the great Shirley Bassey title song, and the stylish way director Guy Hamilton delivers the whole Bond package?
A lot of them are also buying Tesla’s but they much prefer the AMs. I have just got some new instructions on a case over in Hong Kong so will sound out my clients as to the latest. AM v Tesla.
Just looked it up. The goldfinger AM. It was one of the most successful toys of its age. They costs just 10 shillings and the factory were turning out 10,000 a day with over a million sold. Those were the good old days. Not sure what happened to mine. Boo Hoo!
I used to have one of this gold replica corgi car Aston Martins as a kid. Guns used to pop out the front and a bullet screen would pop up at the back plus the passenger would fly out the roof etc. I wonder what they are worth to collectors these days. Showing my age now.
I see this was 5% up at the close on the US market yesterday. Something strange about they way this is being held back at the moment. Can see this will really fly on any scrap of news. Good or bad news doesn’t seem to make any difference to stocks these days.
Welcome. I always look to buy quality businesses following drops after IPOs. My first ever investment was FB after it dropped from approx US$36 down by half to $18 back in 2012. The rest is history. Hence why I am looking at AM following its 90% drop. Always beat to buy when all others are running scared as they or something like that. Best of luck to us all. Then again these things are never luck it should all be a calculated assessment and investment.
Volume over last few days at the close show more buys than sells. Expect might see the usual Friday bounce and move north. Bought some again for a possible trade plus will hold some from here. Still holding most of my funds in Tesla as that shows no signs of stopping and just had another broker upgrade to 3500 which is nuts. Would be good to see AM turn things around.
Thanks 3300. Much appreciated. BP.
