Morning all , it is an interesting subject regarding materials and supply . Started a new site this week and got the roof completed but the tilers are struggling to get batten as well as tiles , a chippy with the same company as myself and they have run out of studding and the suppliers dont know when they will be getting any . Also , our white goods supplier have been informed that their container costs from China are going up almost 3 fold with covid and Brexit as the reasons , but sales are still surging ahead on all sites just the build time has increased a little .

I would be first on that wagon i feel, at 55 it is getting a little harder but a fixed wage no matter what you do would suit me but the main reason i can see this not happening is the labour costs not being fixed . Currently they know how much each house will cost but with direct labour you will need more management to carry out the supervision currently done by contractors and tradesmen will not work anywhere near as hard then factor in holiday pay sickness , tax pension conts etc.

I understand that the sp will be hit when news of a vaccine comes out but as of yet there is no vaccine available for weeks even months and it has nt been proven if it works or for how long , on a similar par to our will we get sales and if so how many . I personally cant wait for a proven and reliable vaccine is available for all but when that will be we really dont know , until then testing will have to continue.

Well that was a kick in the teeth for all covid stocks today, at first look it seems the vaccines are on their way so no testing will be needed but digging a little deeper and there are more questions than answers . Will they get past phase 3 trials , will it cover all strains of the virus , will it prove to treat all ages and races , at what % rate and for how long . Until all those questions are answered and i am sure many others testing will still be here.
How high this will go and how quickly i have no idea but it will recover and with approvals we will get sales .

As with most aim shares people invest in potential rather than certainties . This share for me has the potential to multi bag big time , if we get the approvals we are waiting for it is possible to get 50% or more contracts to = ncyt which would give us an m cap of £300m plus which is 5 times what we are now . Yes this isn't a given but very possible so I will wait until we have approvals or not and see what sales follow if any......???????

Its an interesting thought regarding your post about NCYT moving over here when approvals land . As and when they do appear there may well be many then get on board for the ride in the hope and expectation of good sales , for eg if the sp stays the same as now the more likelyhood of gdr getting to £2 than NCYT getting to £22 so top slicing would be a cert along with others looking to climb on board.
But on the other hand it looks like the market has no faith in GDR no matter what news is released unless it is about and approvals and SALES. For me it seems as all the ducks are getting lined up with what is in place it is all about patience now and a little bit of luck that approvals will come and then the sales of our kit, as and when and to what extent is pure guesswork.

Ha ha , i would listen to a bricklayer over an MD every time , one tells the truth the other tells you what you want to hear . I cant remember many builders building through the last recession in 2007/2008. All companys around me in northants area are flat out with new sites starting all over the place , mainly due to the stamp duty cut but if that gets stopped in march next year then that may have a big change of thought for some buyers but if it gets extended then that will be massive news for the housing industry . The govt may extend as they know it will keep the country ticking over with cashflow but the big problem all over it seems is getting the materials as lead times keep moving and with more inexperienced agents about not taking this into account delays are happening.

It is being made perfectly clear by our govt and and others that we need to be at work to be able to get out of the financial mess we are in and with the winter approaching it is thought and predicted that cases are only going to increase and to prevent mass lockdowns that we are seeing is by testing and reduce the number of isolations required and this is where the tie up and gdr can help . With our low m cap we only need a small % of tests to make a big difference to the sp .
We may all differ on what the sp will get to and when but lets hope that none of us or our loved one s actually get it.

Imo the sp has been pants and there is no denying that over the last few months and i put that down to big sell offs from II s and no news from the bod on approvals , but we have also not had any negative news from the bod quite the opposite regarding the rescent tie up. If and hopefully when we do get the approvals we are hoping for then the sp will then start to move northwards and the tie up will become a lot clearer with more information and hopefully more sales . None of this is nailed on that we succeed in the same way as if it wont it is how you feel regarding your investment and where the sp will climb to , only news and confidence will determine this.

Hi Ben . were the spandrels on a smart roof or just standard , as ours always have just a standard cloth material like building paper . I saw bricklayer cutting it the whole length of the spandrel the other day and asked why he was doing that , he said they had to cut it , fold it back up and then add a 450 dpc tray to it at wall plate level to comply with the detail and nail the ties on with stainless steel nails instead of screws. I would be more worried of where the water is getting in for these to be required surely .
We have sites opening up all over in Northants area for all builders , a slow down on footings on some sites but considering no releases were predicted this year signs are good .
I hear on the grapevine the govt are aiming to do everything they can to keep the housing industry going to keep the money flowing but the commercial side for some firms looks very touch atm.

We were a target for any possible takeover any sort of DD would be based on our products , the success of them and future revenue .

Well we are not just a 1 trick pony due to covid with other irons in the fire and steady revenue to roll in on these fronts and then our testing kit , now a good source of knowledge for sales would come from our partners or their owners as and when we get approvals .
Just speculating , but Danagher could find out if fda approval is on its way and they could possibly know the right people to talk to as regards contracts in USA and it would fit in well with that side of their buisness model so in my layman s thoughts it would work , if only it was that simple and easy. For me that would be a huge cherry on the top of the cake we already have , as hopefully we get permits appoved this month with confirmed sales in the next few weeks to get the sp back to its highs of £2.50 plus.

Working in the midlands and sales back to where they were before lockdown if not a bit higher , my only concern is , will sales drop off towardsthe end of the year when furlough money ceases and companies go towards reduntancy and as the end of year figures dont meet what was hoped . New homes sales are good but you also need first time buyers for the front end of the chain and with 95% mortgages harder to come by most of those buying now would have had them in place prior to lockdown.

This is purely a guess but a possibility. All countries i am assuming have contracts of some sort signed for a period of time or number of tests so they are/were covered during the outbreak of the pandemic . They may have some time or an amount of tests to run so there is no rush imminently to sign up to any more tests without extensive DD on the quality of said tests .
This may not be the case with GDR and that we have salesmen that could nt sell thermal socks to eskimos but if i was in charge of purchasing tests for the possible outbreak in winter i would be doing as much research and testing and asking questions before i agreed to anything . It is so frustrating with the sp sitting where it is but as of yet i have not seen anything in an rns that has put me off from holding and selling up .
The market is and will be in the future , massive, and we only need a tiny slice of the cake to make a huge impact on our current price, all in my opinion of course.

But well in time for the second wave , and by all accounts most likely worse and now governments know the good from the bad tests they may well start to look to aquire tests in preperation for winter . It could well be we dont see the full potential of sales until september october time and by then we should have all the regulatory approvals we need .

The bod have screw ed us over with the dilution then kick us up the backside with the placement at 3p . any bets they then reward themselves with a bonus for doing such a great job in getting the placement but nothing mentioned what a crap job they did in selling the company
