Weakness today could be front-running the lock-up expiry?

If an RNS tonight then they are keen as mustard to complete their exit, but with no shock value this time.

If no RNS tonight then we could either put it down to bad timing pre Xmas (no liquidity, deal makers on holiday), or we could be optimistic and say they are pausing awaiting the Comcast/Sky outcome…

The prior RNS was at 16:41 just after close - so we don’t have long until we find out!

I mentioned a few days ago some early press reaction to the 2026 gaming platform launch by ITV (similar to offerings like Sky Vegas and Banijay Gaming).

I just noticed the holding page has now been replaced with an account signup and it seems ready to go for VISA & Mastercard transactions. Expect ITV advertising to start imminently. Not everyone’s cup of tea but it will generate revenue - which probably will count towards the £750 million by end of 2026 target the ITV Board has declared.

As you’d expect no new ITV news today, but I did find a good write up of Comcast published yesterday which goes into a lot of detail about their outlook. Some might find it interesting, and naturally ITV is mentioned partway through.

Take a look at this 1 year ITV chart!

Each pullback since November has been shallower, which is a classic compression beneath resistance. To me this looks like a coiled-spring underneath the key 83-84p zone.

There’s not a lot of resistance above… I will keep sticking my neck out and predict price could pop soon. Failure to break out here would see price drift again however.

Banijay are obviously a lot further ahead with their gaming offering - but it shows ITV Win has huge potential for ITV - and I’ve wondered for some time why they haven’t tried to monetise this area as much as Banijay. Good news.
