If this company opts for a placing to fund an acquisition, I will close this position - one of my recent posts focused on how they have very successfully destroyed shareholder value, with the BOD failing to demonstrate an ability to deliver either organic or acquisitive growth. I am invested principally on the 2020 accounts and a confidence that their switch to direct routing services [particularly their breadth of regulatory approvals] is the way forward, not on the basis that they can use their AIM listing as a no-consequence cash machine. Meetingzone was a disaster on a book value and revenue basis - it has purely added a s*** ton of goodwill to the balance sheet. Bigsmoke knows from our encounters on here that I have a raucous sense of humour, but I am currently in the process of drawing a huge line in the sand on Brighton beach (Richard Branson told me that he could see it from space - although as an aside I was arguing to him that the outer atmosphere isn't really "space," but I digress, even though it's a fair point) because a placing would be a particularly offensive kick in the teeth after all we have been through here.
an embarrassment.
good to have some rational calm enter the room, very cathartic, me and JTD are about to internally combust
Christ I should have named this subject "non-existent growth" - a negligent misrepresentation in the making. For the avoidance of doubt I am not suggesting there is any growth here.
No confirmation Ian, last year 19 July - but this year we've had to send out a search party consisting a whole naval carrier group, 40 mountain rescue sniffer dogs and 3 reconnaissance squadrons (yes, land, sea AND air - no luck yet mind) to confirm whether Steve and the board are alive - they have been lost in action for such a considerable amount of time now (with millions of our cash) that we just want to know they're ok/ breathing......
Organic, acquisitive
Well, they have failed on the latter with meetingzone - that's just added tens of millions of good will, but for £70mil(ish) = no acquisitive growth
Organic growth? Well, seemingly couldn't make it work, so they've "pivoted" - welcome to the next big question - can they achieve organic growth in this new, transformational year
Quoting "we have a 100mil pipeline" doesn't really do it - that's vacuous. So is a little "spike" due to Covid19, that's not growth
You'd think the board would want to say something about all of this.....
Not worried about Hayward and Barrett Holdings whatsoever. They have made it very clear that they are not worried either - FireAnt, you are exactly right: very, very few cases go to court. Whilst a small percentage of cases do progress from pre-action to filing, that number is still very small and inevitably the defendant has to cough up on those costs. They won't hesitate on that front, and excellent - that would erode value. Getting hung up on Hayward is typical "can't see the wood for the trees." The equivalent of deciding not to drive because you're worried someone might nick your catalytic convertor.
Most interestingly do you reallyyy hate to say this stuff? I hate that you hate ruminating over this navel-gazing minutiae because it's de-ramping claptrap. And yes, take a look at Mina Halton and she nears retirement age, but I suspect that the whole company are not considering retiring simultaneously, and it's quite clear they have a lot of skilled individuals there. I suspect you are extremely hesitant when playing Jenga.
27k buy - CHRI55 is back!
giving up on LoopUp in its entirety smoke?
am glad Harry Kane took the penalty and not Steve. Steve ain't bringing anything home.
Following on from your point - how accurate/ reliable is this 100m "pipeline?" Are people confusing this sales "pipeline" with "sales forecasts" - because they are two very different things, and Steve F/ the board haven't said a word as far as I can see about sales forecasts? That's a problem - what actually constitutes this "pipeline" - are they quoting prospects, prospects that have been "qualified" (as worth the time pursuing), prospects that they've qualified and are in contact with, all of the before + in proposal stages? Because that's how you work your way from sky high/ unreliable "pipeline" quotations to more realistic sales forecasts: prospect, qualify, contact, proposal, negotiation, close + contract.
So I suspect the silence is deafening because: this is a complete pivot of the company, Steve F/ the board simply don't know yet, they're taking an ambitious/ "transformational" punt. And when you're taking a punt like that it's probably best to keep your mouth shut..... for their own sake of course, because of the sheer scale of the unknowns.
are we nearly there?
"so in near 8 months, Loop have done nothing to impress the market.... or me !!............. B"
Excuse me yrabs, this is a TRANSFORMATIONAL year here ;).........
