EC, Oil majors (BP,Shell,Exxon etc) are all vertically integrated ie they are in the game from start to finish.Drilling and exploration,producing oil and gas then downstream refining products and chemical then selling.They sell crude to themselves and can charge what they wish.When crude prices are low the refiners can make more profit margin.That is why when crude is low the price at the pump does not match it, - - - - - -Baz (28 years at Exxon)

Astro,I bought in Sep 2019 at £5.20 and a few tranches still above the fiver.I did not have the stomach to buy in at the lows but bought a load at about £3. so I am averaging about 5 ish.I cannot give the exact figure as I have been trading with some of it and it's hard to keep track.Not once in the 2 years have I been in profit.
