dss, indeed the Mexican Ntog
photo thx, The business plan is becoming clearer. Looks like they are planning to apply the same business model to Mexico as that used by North American Pet. So the answer to my questions before is that they won't be scaling up on employees, or at least not very many. This is really about taking financing small % stakes in ventures where either someone else is the operator or the JV partner is really in control. Maybe Mexico will be more lucrative in this respect. Good luck.
spikey, someone tipped it on another board. And i'm happy to follow things up, as the bbs are generally a good source of information. This one has got me scratching my head though. It's so bizarre it's actually quite interesting. I'm happy to be wrong though.
it's beyond risk, spikey, it's just bizarre. I wish you all the best but I can't get my head round the optimism here. And the lack of answers confirms that most posters here have no idea either. It all seems to rest on "but Mexico is opening up , of course we'll make money"
spikey, we can certainly agree on the uncertainty, that's why i'm not investing in it. Ok so given that they currently have no employees and therefore no actual experience of developing even a small oil field why would the Mexican government give work to such a company ?
spikey: you tell me how many employees they will need because I've already said I don't know what it is they will be doing. They negotiate something an onshore concession with the mexican governement, lets forget the laws haven't actually been passed yet, in the next month. then what happens next? Do they scale up or just outsource absolutely everything.
i think investors don't understand what they are buying here. And this bulletin board doesn't do a good job of explaining either. So there is what a couple of guys right now in Mexico "doing deals", what exactly does that mean. What kind of deals and how do the "deals" generate cash. How many employees does Asta have apart from these deal makers. Not expecting answers cos I don't think people here actually know themselves.

spikey, thanks, by bureacracy i mean politics and political risk too. Sounds indeed that it's a big step still to overcome. Thanks for some of the detail
spikey, i totally get the mexico O&G now opening up thing. Change is oppurtunity, tick that box, but now move on to the next step, and there are a lot of steps before any revenue will be earned. Mexico is opening up, but after years of nothing but State owned Pemex, you will probably still find a lot of residual bureacracy. Mexico "saying" isn't mexico "doing" for example. So this would be just one example of a big risk imho, that would be highlighted by research. So all in all given all the research that has been done, taking into account all the risks when is Asta saying it will start to post revenues and a profit. What is the projection ?
farma, it;s amazing how simple questions can have the most well researched stumped. :-), (that's from long experience investing in Aim too.), yip, asta, so what have i learned, could be good, could be shi t
yes sure , i didn't mean exclusively exploration activities. But all oil and gas projects are very capital intensive ie expensive. Even working over old fields, which is the new trend. And they also, always take a very long time. And that is assuming Mexican bureaucracy won't be an issue. Financing O&G is also very complex, can be lucrative too, but due to the timelines and risk it's very hard to do. As I said, just trying to understand, i'm all for getting in early.
i posted "hugely expensive" because if it's trying to get involved in oil and gas, albeit not directly as an oil company, the cost of o&g projects will probably have an effect on it's bottom line. i have looked back at posts. still struggling to see the business model other than it's something to do with financing deals for concessions. Will that not take years before a return. As i asked, simple question , if you've done your research. When do you think Asta will post its first revenues. Not deramping , just trying to understand the business model for shareholders.
no i don't think it's an exploration company, but it is trying to get involved in oil and gas in mexico. What i'm trying to figure out is what does Asta "bring to the party" in Mexican Oil and Gas. I'm admitting i dont' know, pointless asking me questions back. But still noone is explaining the "enormous potential".
ha sorry i meant the bb, this bullitin board
and asked the board for more details cos it's not obvious what this company is about. Nobody answered, everyone just keeps saying "amazing potential" . So glad I didn't buy in just yet. So Mexico Oil and Gas is becoming more liberalised. Change is oppurtunity I get that, but I don't get why is Astra so well placed to take advantage. It's not an Oil and Gas company, exploration is hugely expensive, it's only worth a couple of milion quid. Can anyone answer, What is the next news expected and when do you think the first revenues will be posted.
a non exec resigns. Seems overdone. Back on the radar at these prices
someone tipped this share on another site. Trying to get my head around it. It hasn't posted any revenue for the last 4 years. So where do you start with it, why is it going to boom ?
divi date was before that. Anyway, if it dips to 300 i'm buying
