Personally i don't think Frasers have stopped buying

The interesting thing to me is more is there a concert party waiting in the wings, similar to what happened at BWNG. Ashley has an undertaking to sell up to £0.5bn Frasers shares back to Frasers, which would give him the opportunity buy personally here

At the moment, on published figures, there isn't much difference between the proportion of shares owned by Frasers and the proportion controlled by the BoD.

Frasers have chosen to go hostile, yet haven't chosen to give any idea of their vision for the business.

Will this encourage other hostile potential bidders.

If a major brand sale was to be agreed, the auditors would have to be involved to sign off on the deal. Then the BoD audit committee, with the exclusion of the Kamani's as they would be related parties.

So it is exceptionally unlikely that anything other than fair market value would be realised

The Frasers letter I think was more to accelerate the corporate restructure than a serious attempt to have Ashley as CEO. As I posted yesterday, the letter was incredibly aggressive in tone and the timelines were ridiculous

There are clear rules laid out for sales to insiders.

The Kamani's can't cherry pick and take private anything as they would be related parties and therefore not able to take part in any sale process.

Should any sale be agreed it would have to be approved as fair value by the whole BoD and most likely a third party auditor.

Just look at how the PLT purchase was managed.

The same would be the case if Ashley took over, he couldn't just take Debenhams for a nominal sum.
