The only reason to widen a spread is to discourage traders or occasionally where MMs have no stock

They could see the overall volume totally drying up for the last week or two but it didn't stop them dropping the sp did it

It's interesting that as soon as we see a decent amount of blue, the spread is immediately the widest it has been for days.
