Have looked through the accounts I don't think the directors are paid excessive amounts £100k plus but nothing more than they could get working at management level at a ftse company. Given the dive of shareholdings, I do think they are aligned to shareholders value and it being the upside for them in the long term. Otherwise why bother to do what they are doing,
Endorse the comments here. Do you think that at the time of the lat placing the directors were paid bonuses so they could buy the shares or maybe given them. Would love to know as it would tell a lot about their commitment
Hi tracylied - I really enjoy your posts and you clearly know a lot more about this company and gold mining thsn me but I don't understand your point about making 700k shares available to provide liquidity and to allow new entries. Surely this amount is insignificant in the scheme of things given that there was 133m shares issued in June and there are over 1bn shares in total, and if you think the shares are significantly undervalued why sell? Also selling them isn't going to have any impact on the long term share price of your remaining holding or short term for that matter. I'm just interested in your thought process that's all. Thanks
The last quarterly update was on 31 July so I would imagine that the release could be on 31 October and the news was good last time so we shouldn't read into anything if it is that long. But being Halloween. Let's hope it doesn't spook us!
Do you think the fact that they have extracted a lot on gold to process during the winter months may make it hard to interpret the figures. I read somewhere that the focus has been on extraction and not necessarily processing. I might be totally wrong!!
I'll make a stab an an ongoing annual profit and someone can pull me up on the errors. 20,000g of gold at say $ 1,250an ounce. Approx 25g in an ounce so annual revenue is $1million. Cost of production is anyones guess but let's say a pprox $800 being bullish per ounce so in total is $640k so net profit is $360k for a year 50% is arianas so $180k so about £140k over 8 years worth £1m. Can someone tell if I'm massively wrong.
Good points. Do you have a view on what net profit will be on this mine over the 8 years based on today's gold price and 169k oz of production. Would be interested to know how much this project could be worth to shareholders. Probably been raised before but I'm new to this stock and also want to hold long term
The important point missing from the RNS is the ongoing cost of extraction. Without this information it's difficult to assess the profitability of the project and eventual return to investors (does anyone have a view ). The reason given for not including this was because the ramping up phase costs are not reflective of ongoing costs so hopefully this can be clarified at next RNS.
I think what you have to think about before investing here is what future is there for Acacia even if there is a deal with the government. How can they invest confidently? It will all be about exit process and extricating themselves from Tanzania in the most cost effective way. They will not see a future here and therefore there is no long term future for the company In Tanzania . That's not to say you couldn't make money trading the shares but surely not a long term investment As Warren Buffet said the best investments are the ones you can confidently put away for 10 years and not even have to look at them.
The Tanzanian government have banned exports of gold from Acacia. International courts should do the same until the dispute with the Tanzanian government is resolved and there should be a total ban if the mines are nationalised
Agreed - I only bought these shares three months ago on a brokers recommendation and then found that my shares had been diluted 20% while the directors tucked in to the discounted price. So can they do this time and time again so even when their is good news the private investors don't see any benefit? Probably.
