Harrycash, I agree with everything you say in that post. In my last 20 years in work my job gave me several excellent national contacts in the electrical utilities contracting world. Due to the nature of their jobs they move from company to company chasing money. I’m fairly certain there will be enough info to help if I make a few calls.

Harrycash, The more I research the more I like the sound of the relationship. I’m more confident now to sell my Lloyds holdings and commit to Fulcrum. Strangely I notice I only live 1000m from their junction 33 m1 base. Mmm, I’ll do some more digging. This may be even better than I first “ overheard” . Obviously all the previous chatter is in my own opinion.

Worked in the electricity industry since I left school and retired from it @62 years old 6 weeks ago. Absolutely certain of 1 thing, I’ve heard more about car charging and network reinforcement surrounding it over the last year than ever before. 2 of the biggest issues are will the existing network infrastructure stand the additional load and where do you put the charging points? If Bayford have forecourts and space for solar panels and Fulcrum have the expertise to deliver the connections then it’s pretty much sorted. Seems they have the ability to connect into network operators infrastructure so it all fits together. Heres hoping.

You’ll probably find out it’s jobs for the girls and boys and that they spread their time so thinly between several companies that they can’t do anything truly meaningful. Bit of networking is usually about all you get. However, you can’t blame anyone for taking remuneration and shares and a pension.

Hi everyone. Bought in on Thursday after overhearing a loud conversation in a pub in Yorkshire. Basically saying in their opinion Fulcrum utiliy was grossly undervalued and that there may be a release in the coming weeks to say everything is on the up. Alcohol fueled definitely but I thought I would give it a shot. Did a few hours research and imo it looks a fair bet.

Everyone who has a torp can’t have all their requirements at once. :-) The Indians have signed to take what they can asap but will take more as production ramps.....as will all the others. It will be years before they all get their wants and needs supplied. Looks like an extra production shaft will be needed in future. More jobs for the region.

So now Sirius have sold all the initial production capacity of 13 million tons before it even gets within 2 years of production. What a stunning business position to be in. Do they now stop taking torps until closer to poly keep plugging away to 21million tons?

According to the tunnel lining speeds quoted by various articles on youtube , the tbm should be just about at the portal face as its only been cleaning up the shotcrete. Shouldn’t long now until it sets off proper. Then we’ll get a rate of progress. My guess is 22m per day.:-)

Myosotis, thanks for that. Once you’ve heard the lecture and seen the slides you can understand the choice of concrete and the need for the thicker lining. I just wish someone would have been good enough to give the guy a glass of water. Not a job for the nervous person.

It’s unbelievable that they can sink a shaft to the required depth, excavate a cavern of a size to construct a tbm, lower it all in and then build it and excavate all that tunnel and finish before the end of 2021. I’ve just watched a South Yorkshire council team of 11 men take 2 weeks to plane 25 mm off 100m of side rd and hot roll it..... and never wake up the road-sweeper driver in his cab whilst doing it all. ;-)

I still find it difficult to believe that there will be a cavern constructed to lower and assemble an almost 2000 ton 1/8 of a mile long tbm in stages along with all the ancillary power and fluid connections. When you look at the time to construct one in a reasonably accessible above ground location it makes the underground assembly mind boggling.

Thanks Rockhead. I think Sirius are missing the boat with PR. A great engineering feat hidden because they haven’t used the local BBC and ITV to show the local communities what they have on the doorstep. I know people who live in Pickering and Kirbymoorside who still think it’s a dozen men with wheelbarrows and shovels. Meanwhile we get closer to gold ..........

Just retired to care for wife. However when I can I still go.medicals expired so needs a renewal and so i’ll need s check ride and a few circuits. I need Sirius to buy me a Cherokee. That tbm better move fast or I’ll have my own wings before the metal ones:-)

Go where you want for the nav. Gamston to flamborough lighthouse did mine. Its big,white and sticks up. Easy to see. You’ll earn your corn finding Lockwood hidden in greenery. Why don’t they paint the airport roof orange for me to see from 20 miles away?? Get some pics from overhead.
