Illbetabuck, you’re making it worse for me. Let me take it to my level and I might understand better. If I buy a car with cash I don’t pay interest. If I use credit(leverage, call it what you will) I pay more because of interest. What’s different for Sirius.

If they had raised the lot at 15p when it was oversubscribed it would all be rosy now. I know I keep plugging with this, but I really don’t understand, would it not have been better? I keep thinking I’m missing something.

I need to ask a question. Why didn’t they do this at circa 10p 6 months ago? 5 times fewer shares for the same amount of cash. It almost looks like it was done on purpose. That couldn’t be correct could it?

Ibab, the offer was seemingly there last August from us. Rationally, why not try the issue of shares and escrow the cash? If it falls short then give it back....but at least TRY. If the first was oversubscribed maybe, just maybe the 2nd one would be the same. Derisked.....if ever it was that risky, share price jumps and further loans are easier.

That’s why I’m lucky. Old and paid for by scrimping like a **** all my life. Others just starting out pinned this as their saviour. I can see the draw to it. It was sold to us very well. If you live in Yorkshire you tend to be proud of it and want to see it do better than it has before. It’s normal I suppose. I thought that this was my contribution. I think emotion ruled loads of us. Not good in business.
The point is still that I don’t think that every avenue has been explored. It seems many think the same. Maybe if we find out later that 10 different companies/finance houses/ banks have been approached and turned us down flatly, it makes it more palatable. Provable though, not just “ we tried and it was never going to happen”. Emotional I know but, it’s me.

Tex2374, I know you’re correct. I think I just feel for everyone that have lost. Money is always hard to lose if you have nothing to show thats tangible. I know this has shot me to bits but I won’t be living in a box under a bridge. I’m lucky in that everything I have I own. Other people will seriously develop health issues over this and that does upset me. I’m probably ( definitely) too soft as my kids would tell you. You could have the shirt off my back if it helped. So it bothers me that it’s just seemingly all over and I would, from a personal point, say that every avenue has not been explored and that’s a low blow. I really hope, but doubt, that avenues are still being explored behind the scenes. Only time will tell. Good reply from you and appreciated.

A realistic way of looking at this is how would Chris Fraser look if he had to attend an agm today and explain this to share holders face to face. Would he look uncomfortable? I think so. If he came and could show the level of effort and the proof of that effort and lengths that he had gone to to resolve it...face to face then it’s a different matter. If I went to my old director to explain a failure and could not show him I had explored many avenues before having to disappoint him I know I would have been unemployed from that day. If every route had been explored he would have just thanked me for trying and moved on.
What Fraser can’t do is simply say that this is the ONLY avenue. Any finance guy worth anything has more than one plan....more expensive or not.

I’m afraid poor Tristan will be facing the brunt of this and there was and is nothing that he could have or can do. He’ll have to fend off what he can. Not an easy task for him. I don’t think anyone can gripe at him. He’s been given the sticky end of an awfully brown stick.

Jonathansxx, that goes back to the “every reasonable effort” question. Did they make every reasonable effort to protect our investment? Realistically I suppose they will say that this is their best effort. However, it’s only one effort which does not reflect in the term EVERY reasonable effort. At least trying a rights issue first whilst looking for other options is reasonable. Not difficult, not beyond the realms of success. It’s that lack of effort that points people towards the suspicions that they are airing on this board. Simply saying that this is the only option doesn’t cut the mustard. Not making it easier for people to swallow the bitter pill. Just my opinion.

Nixan, that’s why Tristan rang me. To basically say that they knew of the petition and were exploring other avenues. We now know what that included. Shame it wasn’t an email because I would have saved it.
