I had the takeover feeling too Ian. Just too many stars lining up for us to be a coincidence.... Either Jangho takeover with them aiming to get chinese foothold in USA n UK with expansion into China/Asia. Or Disney.....
The Sun: Vue cinemas in talks to bring Netflix, Amazon Prime and TV hits to big screen....
https://www.thesun.co.uk/money/14875080/vue-cinemas-netflix-amazon-prime-tv/
Ok its about Vue cinemas, but if Cineworld do this type of thing.... We're gonna be sky high.
What's really interesting is, they say we are going to be entering a new golden age of cinema because of the backlog of movies, also new data from Asia has shown higher than pre pandemic levels of audiences ....
Personally, I feel if they were to show premier League, champions League, Europa league, F1 tennis etc on screen... Theyll be a sellout, each n every screen, we can basically be the new pub. Think about it, split the ticket sales with the distributor (Sky Sports, BT Sports, Prime etc) the same we do with movie studios, and think of the consessions for food, drink, alcohol etc. I'd love to be seated in a monster Cineworld screen and watch an F1 race.... Watch Chelsea beat Manchester City in the Champions League final while downing a few pints and hot dog and nachos.... Watch Manchester United beat Villareal in the Europa League final with popcorn, Ben n Jerry's and a few pints of Guinness. Would be a dream to sit and watch F1 races on the big screen.... It's a possibility. And great for the tills at Cineworld if we can hash something out. Could even start a new culture, imagine... "we going down the pub to watch footy on the same size TV I got in my house but sit on cr*p chairs n stools?" "Nah forget that! lets go Cineworld n watch it in comfort like a boss"
OMG just thinking about it makes me salivate.
Long Live Cineworld,
The future of how we consume our favourite media
We will see, it looks like 8th June isn't just on our calendars... Interest from more people now the future is safe. I expect a very good RNS stating the refinancing terms and also sales better than expected from after lockdown lifting.... Could be fireworks leading to and on the day.... I think we will comfortably see £1 before then
Wales Online: Friars Walk Cineworld to 'remain closed indefinitely'.
https://www.walesonline.co.uk/whats-on/film-news/friars-walk-cinema-remain-closed-20532947
Was a scary title, until you read the article and realise Cineworld are playing hardball and are saying screw you to the landlord over unfair rental terms... The article also points readers to the closest Cineworld lol. The article also states the Cineworld is a giant in Friars Walk, which would leave a giant hole in that site.... Which would leave a giant hole in footfall.... Which would reduce profits at surrounding food stores etc.... Which would put more pressure on rents ... Which would put even more pressure on the landlord.... Which would mean £millions of pounds to convert the Cineworld site to maybe Residential? Which would cause major cash issues for the landlord maybe?... I'm thinking cineworld will strongarm them into more favourable terms... Will be interesting to see who will do what and when ...
Long live Cineworld.
Daily Express: China now owns £143billion in key UK assets – from nuclear power to pubs and schools.
https://www.express.co.uk/news/politics/1431254/china-news-latest-xi-jinping-chinese-communist-party-uk-boris-johnson-hong-kong
Cineworld referenced in the article.... Imagine what happens if the Jangho buyout happens (finger crossed £4) ... The Chinese gain a foothold in the UK and more importantly for China, in the USA also....
Looks like Disney got our backs big time.... Hmmmm.... interesting turn of events.... Well well well, how the tables have turned.... See you at the movies..... See you at Cineworld..... And then By 2023?..... See you at DisCineworld! Lol. Hhhooooddddlllll

Chuggernaught, I think the think the title should read .... "Provident to dump doorstep loans arm: Move will drive desperate borrowers into hands of Amigo loans, experts warn..." Lol.
But in all seriousness it's quite scary.... Untill you realise Provident have many different arms and income streams, therefore the FCA and courts will treat them differently as they can afford to repay any claimants from other income... With amigo they have only have the guarantor loans, so if the redress for claimants is too high, they stand a chance of getting nothing at all as amigo will go bust totally...

Great day for long term holders, I can see the future is looking a lot brighter now, steady increases now for the next few years, if we crack online and advertising.... Breakneck uplift on SP
Roaring20s you're spot on there, no point releasing the results when everyone knows there has been next to no income with severe covid impact, same sort of thing everywhere that's been effected by lockdown... But by June/July a clearer picture will be painted. But for now Card Factory, the Banks and a select few people will know what trading and online has been like for Card. So I feel tomorrow (hopefully not at a stupid time) we will get a generic Bank Waiver saying the same till next month, or you never know something better ...
I feel we already have prime real estate and are expanding by 50 shops a year, they can easily put high profit items like meal deal sandwichs, alcohol etc for gifting... All they need to do is apply for licence with local council and pay £60 a year per store. But then this also begs the question, if they feel it's viable, they can eat into WHSmiths too by maybe holding magazines... I know all this deviates from the core business but I'm just thinking out load
100% latpulldown. Mookey has always been spot on with his timings, he must have had loads of premium info which has allowed n advised them to their timings. Maybe also his home country pioneering the vaccine rollout over there has given insight to how the world will react n develop after vaccination.
Long live VacCineworld!
Trust me bladey it's a complete joke, when the cinema window was respected it used to take months for the movie to be released on BluRay and then ripped to torrents sites for pristine rips of the movie online. But now, on release day that very same digital perfect copy is available within 2 hours.... In the old days (pre pandemic, so like 14 months ago), the only copies online would be a few days after cinema release and were from somebody who takes a camcorder to the screen, so you'd get people standing up in the movie and going to the toilet etc LOL. Then online groups would mess with the brightness, contrast, hue, saturation, colour sharpness to make the rip as watchable as possible... For this reason people would wait for Blu-ray or just go to Cineworld ;-) So I feel the cinema exclusivity will naturally comeback as studios know they are getting hammered financially....
Long live Cineworld!!!
Absolutely ridiculous I can get a 4K HDR 2160p Dolby Atmos rip of Mortal Kombat... Seriously these studios need to sort themselves out and stick to a 2/3month cinema only release, I cant imagine what detrimental impact Matrix 4 would suffer if it's audience was able to download the rip via torrent etc
I'm hoping we can mop up all these customers that used to use Paperchase, Clintons, etc. A few research articles are circulating online showing a growing user base for Personalized cards & gifts too, Card Factory getting in gear online can capitalised on this and also on the "normal" card sales in-store... The future is shaping up nicely if we can managed to expand both streams of revenue, very undervalued at the moment, £290mil market cap Vs £1.5bil moonpig lol. We have plenty of space to grow sp
