Get it now- JW & Llanos FFS - Just quotes for Info - Dr Wardle first arrived in Colombia in 1994, when he was working for BP Exploration Colombia, and subsequently was General Manager for Emerald Energy in Colombia, where he was responsible for the discovery of the Campo Rico and Vigia oilfields.
The Campo Rico Block currently contains six oil fields and the major producer is Vigia Sur which came on-stream in 2013. Oil produced in this block is processed at in-field production facilities before being trucked to the nearby Santiago field where it enters the pipeline network. The Campo Rico, Centauro Sur, Vigía, Los Potros, Las Acacias and Vigia Sur fields lie in the prolific onshore Llanos basin, in the east of Colombia. The Campo Rico field structure is a tilted fault block formed by normal faulting. The principal reservoir is the Eocene Mirador formation, which exhibits high porosity and permeability. A secondary reservoir is the Cretaceous Une formation. Both formations are sealed by the Carbonera formation shales (C8). The principal source rock is the Gacheta formation. Oil is also produced from the Mirador at Centauro Sur, but at Vigía, the oil is produced from the Une and Lower Gacheta formations. Llanos basin of Colombia has reached its target and is now being completed for production.
The well was drilled directionally from the Campo Rico #1 well site to a measured depth of 11,287 ft and encountered the oil-bearing Mirador sands approximately 2700 ft to the NNE of the Campo Rico #1 well.
After completing Campo Rico #2 and #3 the Parker 222 drilling rig will leave the field to drill the Vigia #1 exploration well, also in the Campo Rico block, and the two new production wells will be tested and brought onto production through the expanded Campo Rico production system. Alastair Beardsall, Emerald's Chairman, said: 'The successful drilling of the third well at Campo Rico has completed the initial development of the oil field within ten months of its discovery last March. The benefit to the Company of the recent capital raising, which gave us the ability to accelerate our drilling programme, will be clearly demonstrated when production from the two additional Campo Rico wells starts as expected by the end of February 2005.'
