Only a guess, I think GC failed to get a good deal with ONGC for CPO 5 hence they've kept screwing Amer over to get a cheaper sale , IMHO I think the BOD have asked Michinlko and II's for a planned assistance DYOR only a GUess please research this. GN last post. HNY

Working on this, only one post tonight, remember Amer suffered under a bear attack from RH since 2017, what an opportunity to bully a battered BOD and get CPO5 on the cheap, a single RNS is grey - when you look at the systematic abuse JW has had to suffer - I see this totally differently now, everyone gazes at CPO 5 prize but this sheen can be used against you. Last Killer point for me was RNS 14th May - ONGC over-riding Indico Appraisal well for more risky Sol 1. CPO-5 : Sol Spud- 14/5/19
The Sol-1 exploration well was spud on 11 May 2019. The planned target depth is 10,005ft, targeting the Mirador and Lower Sand formations. (Complete switch of pre-agreed FFS)
CPO-5 : Exploration Drilling Update 26/3/19
The Calao-1X exploration well was drilled to a final depth of 11,445 feet, the LS3 reservoir was logged and no hydrocarbon potential was identified. The Company analysis indicates that the formation was encountered deeper than prognosis and the well was located in an area without closure. The well has the potential to be used as a water disposal well in the future. Amerisur and the Operator are currently integrating the results of this well into the general geophysical model while reviewing the model applied for the well Pavo Real-1. Meanwhile it is planned to drill a further appraisal well within the Indico structure
Mariposa-1 22/1/19 Updates
Mariposa-1 continues to produce in natural flow in a stable manner at approximately 3,150 BOPD with 0.4% water cut over a 28/64" choke. The well has produced approximately 1,300,000 BO since the beginning of the LTT. The Mariposa structure has now been declared a commercial discovery by ANH and the field development plan is under preparation by the operator.
Sol-1 is drill-ready and the Company is considering with its PARTNER whether to drill this well following the above programme or to take up the option for a SECOND drilling rig in the short term.
In addition, the partners are evaluating a further increase in drilling activity for 2019, targeting an accelerated appraisal/development of the Indico field, the NE structures and other prospects associated with Indico down-dip and Mariposa offsets. This may involve the contracting of a THIRD drilling rig.
Deceptacons, now could they plan to scupper this bidding FSP process??? IMO Hence Coller. I need time on Amer, this weekend, works busy and I was upto to 2am last night - head whirling with some stupid ideas, that's a good sign. JTD - I thought you would have mentioned Geopark Q2 results, came in well and to plan, however the $53m share buyback does seem to set out certain limits on M& A activity, unless part of an approach is a paper exchange. Which leads to:-
Properly understand the bidding process, you have to understand the finances of the Interested parties, look at their gearing cashflow, basic business plan and assess - What are they capable of - for lower tier players? Larger players, multi- nationals - such as OXY, why didn't they take us out day 1, would ONGC buy us out in full??? . Finally private equity players, their gambit plays. What I still have not resolved - research not complete, is - Q IF over the last 6 months we were grooming for an outright sale, why have we left OUT (unattended) most of the immediate value added plays (short term actions fallow) i.e.:
1. Stopped after 1 drill in the N sands play - not followed up
2. Neglected internal Output at the expense of CPO 5
2. Left Plat workovers in disarray
3. Left OBA volumes for 3rd party Oil falter
4. Didn't follow up Ecuador RODA upgrades or investment - enhancing OBA value
5. Take on debt for investment in 1-4
6. Pay a Dividend !!!!!
7. But Allowed ONGC to dictate the company's trading pace - where we have no control and will discount EV & SP
plus more. Unless its part of a plan!!

What we DID DO is invest in longer term potential projects:
1. PUT 14 acq'n
2. PUT 8 acq'n & farmin
3. Seismic OXY & Others

The sum of the games - DOES not appear to be a well co-ordinated approach to groom the company for Max value Sale IMO DYOR.

This does NOT pour water on this entire development, The current undertaking it is the absolute correct way to extract value.

Michinko & II's hold the balance of power - the future outcome, like Brexit will depend on which outcome will win their votes over.
