Again, it demonstrates that Sareum has two potentially effective treatments for Lupus in SDC1801 and SDC 1802. This report shows what SDC-1802 can do. Significant that Tim / John have chosen SDC-01 for clinical trials on Lupus, They would only do this if they thought SDC01 was even better. With the formulation issue sorted to deliver even more SDC1801 effectively this could result in a major new treatment for a disease that has had no new medicines for some time. The future looks bright!

Pharmaceutical formulation is the process in which different chemical substances including the active drug are combined to produce a FINAL medical product.
The RNS is saying that this formulation has been developed to deliver higher exposure levels of SDC1801. This will hopefully make the drug even more effective than reported in pre clinical trials. That’s why Stephen Parker tweeted. It means we are fully loaded and now ready to go.

Surely the grant size is irrelevant- it’s gaining approval to access the Covid trials that’s important. And if that happens we should see a good rise.

Given the black box toxicity of current Jak Inhibitors this sounds highly encouraging.

Sorry if I have got this wrong but didn’t Tim say they were putting forward SDC-02 for the Covid grants?

Whilst you cannot knock Sierra’s procedures for taking forward SRA 737 through Phase 1 and 2 trials, it should have been apparent that a company as small as Sierra was never likely to take this right through to final phase completion if the results warranted it. So some of the blame for the current scenario must rest with the ICR ant the Pioneer Research fund. With the additional scientific findings that emerge post Phase 1, a bigger pharma would have been able to tailor its approach to react to new developments. Instead what we have Now is a situation where Sierra has to focus on a drug that they know is less lucrative than SRA737 but which they can get to market more quickly in order to eventually progress SRA 737. As a consequence of this approach, scientific evidence that has emerged nearly 2 years ago on new treatments for cancer are taking a back seat because of lack of funding. You might say well say that Sierra should sell it on but it knows how valuable SRA can eventually be so will not do this and neither will it hand it back to the ICR. That it why it is in Limbo. So longer term profit is being put before patient need. I would expect the Cancer Pioneer fund to act forcibly to push Sierra into early action - if it does not do this to the best of its ability, in my view it is failing the people it’s role was set up to champion.

Just to let you know that I have contacted Tim twice since the discovery of the Patent application. I have not received a response regarding what molecule it relates to. I’m sure Tim would normally respond, but guess he would rather not in this instance!

Strange - the Google Link to ‘SRA 737 Adisinsight‘ I referred to in my earlier post - stating that ‘Sierra Oncology intended to expand the clinical development of SRA 737 in the US ‘ has disappeared! My ordinal message is on there though.

Agree. Maybe Sierra will focus solely on the US market and License out Coverage for the rest of the World? Whatever, I remain of the view that Sierra would not give SRA up completely. It’s just too much of a potential blockbuster for future treatments of a range of Cancers.

Not sure what to make of this but if you google ‘SRA737 Adisinsight’ under the heading it states that ‘Sierra Oncology intends to expand the clinical development of SRA 737 into the US.‘ Yet this Adisinsight report was only made available (at a cost of £38) on 23 July 2020? Any views?
