It will be interesting to see what NANO say in the RNA this morning. They may give us some insight into whether this result is likely to change Samsung's approach at all.

'tis indeed. I don't know how Samsung can hope to prevail in court now but no doubt they'll try every trick in the book.

This is one of the best things about the company for me. Cheap independent clean energy. Mines powering themslves using the most abundant nearby renewable source has to be the future.

My interpretation is that they have many projects which will need invtestment to progress but they don't know how much or when yet.

All numbers going in the right direction but running on fumes. Sounds like the gap to profitability is going to be bridged using the £5M Innovate loan. Can't see any mention of raising. Loads going on re. commercialisation.

These last two announcments will come after many months if not years of work.

Absolutely no idea I'm afraid. Must admit it's the technology and end products have me interested here. I find the business side and the fact that IQE sits at the bottom of the supply chain impenetrable. All I know is that if enough of these partnerships get fed in at the bottom profit is bound to come out the top at some point.

Porotech's Website is certainly an interesting read (https://www.porotech.com/). Looks like there are many applications beyond display. However, in display micro LEDs are seen as the ultimate technology. At the moment they are in their infancy. They are very expensive, power hungry and suffer from miniaturisation challenges. It appears this new technology addresses all these shortcomings but to what extent I don't know. Supposing they represent a significant step forward it still takes a few years to bring end products to market.

Excellent news. We need as many of these announcements as we can get if we're going to use up IQE's capacity and get those revenues back up.

Huge market that will no doubt be very competitive. Micro-LEDs are the next big thing in display. Let's hope IQE and Porotech's offering is compelling.

Obviously but you can't have jam today without it previously being jam tomorrow. I wouldn't say there's no guidance at all with product launch aimed for the 2023 spring / summer collection. There'll be some small revenue upfront and then increased and repeating revenue going forward depending on how the collection sells.

It's significantly better in that regard than the collaboration with Superdry that is to develop products with a hopeful launch after 3 years.

He gave some good expectations regarding the STMicro contract actually BTB. Visibility on orders by the end of the year which means product shipping from early next year. NANO don't know what the conusmer items STMicro's sensors will be used in but if they are niche it will quickly add up to and then overtake break even. If they are high volume such as a market leading handset then the business will be making good profits very quickly. That's pretty specific. The only way it could under perform is if no orders appear at all. Make your own mind up about that but I think most here believe given the news released to date that's unlikely.

No one's defending Samsung. Just not seeing evidence for a conspiracy spanning several majors against a little start up. The monitors were extremely high end and probably didn't make enough business sense to get over the line. Apple didn't progress it's end products, was probably slightly ahead of the market and in end cited cost. If I remember rightly things didn't progress with Osram because we couldn't solve the heat problem. Admittedly BTB cost and heat tolerance are aspects of the technology.

Projects get cancelled all the time at every stage when new technology is involved. STMicro is looking a lot more solid because they are making a lot noise about it and chasing several opportunities so I'm hopeful.
