I think Samsung succeeded by being a single stakeholder with control over their plan from start to finish. That would allow them to tune and tweak performance in balance with other components, control costs where needed and force the it through when hitting blockers. Our other routes to commercialisation have been through complex supply chains where each stage has conflicting requirements and multiple stakeholders. That comes with a much higher failure rate.

I suspect the gaming monitor deal breaker was cost. The BFGDs were super spec everything - 65 inch, 4K, HDR, 120 Hz refresh, full colour, etc. With the RoHS exemption still in place I bet manufacturers saw an opportunity to save some small costs and use CQDs. Did any get released? If they did I don't think many are being sold.

I think the idea that all those competitors were working together against Nanaco is slipping into the realms of paranoia. It's maybe possible that Samsung had a spy in the Dow factory feeding them info on the production line set up or that they poached some staff with knowledge when it was mothballed. All the other failed engagements will be down to cost, delivery, product performance and the changing RoHS dates.

InGaAs can definitely provide the functionality. Which solution prevails (or a hybrid) will come down to cost, size and efficiency. InGaAs look much more expensive and clunky at the moment but there are new generations coming out that are cheaper, smaller and extend into longer wavelengths. It'll be difficult to know who's technology is in what to be honest. Companies like Apple rarely comfirm that. The only indications we'll get might be NANOs bottom line improving in line with certain product launches or leaks from STMicro.

The market cap here is ridiculous at £29M. I don't think you'll lose if you start with small amounts. There's always rumours of fund raising. What small company doesn't have that? It does appear to be running on fumes but they have costs very low. On the verge of commericalisation on a huge scale but IMO the products coming out from their collaborations have been very poor / niche. The ear buds, masks, conrete pod and incomming shoes range from terrible to meh. More demonstrators really. However, I'm hopeful there will be an, "Adidas will be supplying Graphene Wear clothing to their sposonered Olympic teams," Sometime.

There was a TR1 from Landstead yesterday declaring they'd sold roughly 0.5%. They've been selling down a few shares I know of recently. Maybe thinking cash is better for the coming macro environment.
