Helpful as interest rates rise but auto sector plagued with logistical issues
Energy sector is a good bet - so much so Hunt rumours to be looking to extend WFT in oil companies as I was warned about
Understood and good point - I took a few out as want to remain invested in market but you’re right I might need to consider whether being long in energy sector makes sense
Just having difficulty figuring out where to put cash currently but shares go ex div before budget so will hang on st least until I’ve got the dividend on my remaining holding hoping the SP doesn’t fall further of course
Hi Jim800
I suppose I was thinking that the Tories might struggle to pass it in same way Biden Will but you’re right in that we don’t live in the USA so it could happen and Shell has fallen back sharply today on stable OP so maybe tats what investors now think will happen .
Boyobach
I took a few at 2441 but am holding the bulk
My gut feeling is the SP might move up a bit further as OP has hardened and the threat of further WFT has perhaps eased for now but the downside risk grows as the price rises so I took some profit - I might buy some back on a significant reversal
GLA this has been a great investment for me and I hope you too
I heard if it raised rates by 25bps less than anticipated 75bps that might be outcome but market expectations is 75bps just as it is for BOE - of course I could be mistaken
Yes been watching- touched 170 today which was my first stop loss before 130 I almost hit - holding
There were 4 large trades on sale side 2 @ 2,000,000 and
2 @ 3,440,355 late at 2387 but SP held up
Good opinion sharefall
I have same dilemma of deciding where to draw the line and sell some as we’re still shy of 12m high but historically albeit on higher dividend they were c £26.50 I believe
Well done Easy_Living you’re an inspiration
Good luck wherever you invest next or enjoy spending the money
Metom has gone - filter applied - strange to find someone so obviously anti on a BB.
Petr
Yes I see - will hold some for longer term but sell some along way
Damn missed it but remember you’d set that target
I was torn between a bit of Xmas cheer or hanging in there and chose latter so well done Jim800 - think Shel painted target on its back with divi hike and buy back but hey Ho
Indeed Marmion
Dividend increase and strong dollar will support a reasonable payout while buyback will marginally help payout
Dmahon
Looks like you’re right so far very positive SP response
GLA
I’ve not had chance to analyse results in detail but Bloomberg said this morning profit miss v expectations
May see SP easier off back of results unless give backs attractive albeit deferred - I’d hate to call it but may add on any fallback if significant
Bigpunt
300-350/share would be my target too
The notion of £5 is very much post recession in my view and I’ll most likely sell before then as risks to downside would seem to increase with price
Thanks Pooks and Petr
You deliver very wise words - the shares do look to be incredibly undervalued
I think I just allowed myself to get into a negative mindset
As you say will be a rollercoaster for all sorts of reasons I won’t understand so will hang in and hope the company will start to communicate to shareholders
Notmyjob
Quite a big turnover in shares today - over half a billion pounds worth fairly equally balanced between sales and purchases
Hope the market doesn’t sell off the shares as we could do with some good news on dividend now $ fallen back against £
I was that close to bailing at just over 130 acknowledging it would be an absolute capitulation and now the shares are 158 so I’m grateful to all of you who presented the facts so I reached the conclusion it’d be daft
Pooks I stayed in pity I didn’t win EuroMillions or I’fve bought heavily :-)
