Microsoft Corp. MSFT, +0.54% shares rose slightly Friday after multiple media reports that it is in talks to buy TikTok because President Donald Trump is set to order the dance app’s Chinese owner, ByteDance, to divest its ownership of TikTok’s U.S. operations.

"So far, TikTok is the most downloaded app of the year. Since its global release less than two years ago, TikTok and its Chinese counterpart, Douyin, have amassed 800 million monthly active users, more than Reddit, Snapchat or Twitter. Its parent company, China-based ByteDance, is the most valuable private tech company in the world".

I dont know. "For Hammerson, any recovery is likely to be long and brutal, with the good tenants demanding rent reductions and the poor ones unable to pay" is the view in the Telegraph. NRR is very different of course although the Government is talking about pubs being closed again. My worry is NRR will get used to not paying divis....

Pubs to close again is the headline in the press. Many pubs will go bust in that situation. So expect mars to fall to 35p last week. Only got a small position in here myself but hope this can survive

It has not actually moved of course. It hit 7/10 on the first day and has just traded around since then. The market maker has no stock I am fairly sure.....they would not keep a lot for a stock that normally trades 50 times a year. So they will hit the price down to find some sellers. Those who paid 8p and will sell for 5p in panic.....which is why I say punting money only!!

No...7 bagger. I bought three days ago at 1p and have sold twice today at 7p. I never saw it higher on the bid.

If you are going to **** off a tiny company worth 600k yesterday morning investing a million in a multi billion giant ....before the pandemic....you must be very bored.

They invested last July

Correction it was 5.5 cents per share or about 5p roughly. So buying at up to 2p was hardly a ramp. Plus that million in tik tok could be worth a lot more now.

I don’t think this was a ramp if you look at the small number of trades over the last few days. It was valued at 1p at just 600k and the million Investment in the holding company of tik tock made it a bargain. I agree that paying ten pence is a lot but if you read below plenty of warnings to treat this as punting only. We don’t know what that million is worth now...they did have roughly 6p per share in total investment in value anyway so there is little doubt this had got very cheap.

5K buy....serious money. Down 1500 instantly on the spread. Greedy market maker now wants 4p spread.

Wow. At least I see only small punts as I suggested. This is up a lot now and the company will need to put out a note today I think clarifying.

No one quoted 5 per cent. I said it below as a obvious joke and then said “then I woke up”. Ten years ago perhaps. As I have said constantly we have no idea what the stake is worth or if they still have it or if it have been sold now.

But I have to admit......with a huge caveat...that stake could be now worth a fortune. Not impossible......thats the BIG gamble here.
