They seem to have played this quite cleverly, just only hinting at diversification and alternative uses before and now showcasing it. I’m not surprised they kept it under wraps until now because it is groundbreaking and a market leader. There is a lot of momentum behind this. Also i expect more good news on Southern contract very soon all helped by the new PR team.
Nice to see the news getting out and buyers getting onboard. This is a fantastic opportunity for AFC. I expect more of this with the new PR team gearing up and news on Southern contract shortly plus a revamped website and strategy. I think there is quite a lot of positive news in the pipeline this year. Great time for PIs to get back onboard.
Good to see things on the up! I see there are a still a few doom mongers around, but it won’t hold it back this time! Feel sorry for those who listened to the doom mongers and sold up a couple of days ago. It’s not too late to buy back though, with good news around the corner. Onwards and upwards!!
It’s not unusual for tech startups to encounter technical challenges and take longer than expected to bring products to market. AFC is no exception but for those who have weathered the storms I think the rewards are coming. There is a lot to look forward to this year all of which should see big gains in the SP.
- The company is VERY close to commercialisation. A contract with Southern is imminent (and we know this isn’t hype it’s REAL)
- This could easily be the catalyst for other interested customers.
- Dunsfold is a real possibility and the delays with this are not of AFCs making but likely to be overcome very soon.
- There is a partnership with De Nora, an internationally recognised reputable company that has seen sufficient prospects with AFC to research and optimise electrode pairings. We were told previously they trialled over 250 electrode pairings. They wouldn’t do this if there were no prospects
- There is growing interest in greener energy
- The Middle East is still a huge prospect, as the by product is water
- AFC is working hard on manufacturing partnerships
- The new marketing team will kick in soon no doubt and with a revamped image and clear and strong strategy this alone could see a massive jump in SP
The prospects are excellent this year.
Totally agree, the SOFC system is early research and probably years away from a product so not in any way a threat. I don’t think reversible is anything to write home about either. Any conversion forwards or backwards involve losses as nothing is 100% efficient. So it’s not free reversibility it costs a lot. Just means less waste but you have to expend energy to do it. I still reckon AFC have something special as shown by De Nora’s willingness to work together with AFC at no cost to AFC.
You could be right there Southerhay. I think AB mentioned before that De Nora aren’t being paid for this because they see a lot of potential in it to invest their own research money. I wouldn’t be surprised if this one finds funding through other routes in the main. The it’s good the spread has narrowed to stimulate activity and with an announcement around the corner hopefully we will see trading volume go right up along with the SP.
*40% spread
Wish I had spare cash to top mine up! The MM has clamped this one for today with 40%. Looks like they want a day off to prepare for their new year party!
The other thing I look at is the value of shares traded. If you add it up since it was at 10p it’s hardly anything but because it’s small volume it creates large swings. On the positive side that also means it doesn’t take many buyers to reach former levels. This share should be around 20p if they have done a good job on protecting their intellectual property which I expect they have, and once contract is signed even higher. Also you remember it hit 27p from the doldrums simply on a revamp of the website a couple years back. It’s got lots of potential and given where it’s at is now pretty much derisked in technology terms so it’s just the manufacturing and rollout to go. I think the difficult bit is over and it’s very close to commercialisation
It’s difficult when that happens but keep the faith, it’s so close now. One I missed because of the profile was SOLGOLD which from 11p to 1p and that put me off. Was very close to buying at 1p but didn’t. Wish I had though as 6 months later was up at 40p.
I’m already invested, just don’t have a spare £10k kicking around to invest more. It’s human nature for those who have lost a lot on a share to want others to lose and, in some perverse way, talk it down so others lose. It’s a poor reflection of character for those that do that, but I would encourage those PIs thinking of investing to see through that and read the recent RNS, consider the companies position on the cusp of contract signing and commercialisation, with a game changing product, and an ethical investment in green technology. Don’t be put off by doom mongers who have been predicting a doom all year which never arrived. This one will come good.
Try buying low and selling high instead of the other way around. AFC SP is currently low and close to completing significant strategic objectives, a commercial contract, and wide interest across the globe and in Japan, hence time to buy. It’s worth realising that pretty much all engineering companies bringing products to market generally encounter delays even for evolutions of their products, so it’s not surprising for companies who are bringing game changers to market like AFC to encounter delays. It’s not false promises, it’s technical challenges that are not unexpected. From the RNS it looks like we are over those now though, so the future looks much brighter. When this one comes to market, and we have never been closer, it will sky rocket.
