The port of Santana, a municipality 17 kilometers away from the capital, Macapá, was subject to inspection on Thursday (22) by the Federal Revenue Service, the Federal Police and the Marine Corps of the Navy.
According to the president of Companhia Docas de Santana (CDSA), Glauco Cei, the object of federal agencies was to reinforce actions to combat various crimes.
“The port of Santana started to have visibility for Brazil. It is important that inspections like this, today, take place. We received the delegate of the Federal Police and the commander of the Navy. Among the main actions is the fight against crimes such as drug trafficking, arms, people, smuggling, embezzlement and foreign exchange evasion. Certainly, the presence of these security forces caused a frenzy, but we received them with open doors and are at the disposal of the federal authorities ”, declared Glauco Cei.
Foreign ships were also inspected in accordance with international navigation rules.
“Illegal immigration is also a problem that is being tackled. This inspection on ships that pass through Amapá already occurs daily, but there was a strategic reinforcement ”, he concluded.
