Still here, fallen off my perch a couple of times with boredom while we wait for the sp to budgie....don't think they've been robin us yet. One positive tweet maybe all we need to fly.

The VW Group is considering investing in suppliers of important raw materials for its electric car offensive. "If it should be necessary, then we also go into these industries, possibly even in the form of shareholdings," said Stefan Sommer, board member for Procurement / Component, the Automobilwoche and emphasized: "Our security of supply is an extremely important project on the management -Agenda."
In terms of purchasing, VW has already formed an expert group that deals with potential safeguards for future supply chains "down to individual raw materials" (summer). "And we are already having intensive discussions with important cell suppliers about this," said Sommer, who had headed the supplier ZF in Friedrichshafen before moving to Wolfsburg.
Demand from China, the lead market for e-mobility, will continue to fuel the global market for key raw materials. Chinese VW competitors have already made financial contributions to suppliers of raw materials and secured relevant mining rights worldwide, for example in Africa. Also with regard to solid batteries, which could replace conventional lithium-ion batteries in a few years, VW is interested in stable supply chains. Among others, glass, ceramics, polymers and composite materials are among the raw materials demanded. "The issue of security of supply for the raw materials of e-mobility will remain with us for a long time," said Sommer of Automobilwoche.
