MCAP vs Change in Gold price / £vs$16 Aug 2018 09:17
So by my calculations the falling gold price doesn’t have a significant impact on AAZ all the time £vs$ declines.
Example 1: 10,000 ounces sold @$1350 when the GBP was £1.42 vs $ equates to $1350 x 10,000 divided by £1.42 = £9,507,042.25
Example 2: 10,000 ounces sold @$1150 when GBP is £1.25 vs $ equates to $1150 x 10,000 divided by £1.25 = £9,200,000
This means AAZ technically is only £300,000 worse off on every 10,000 ounces sold at the cheaper gold price which doesn’t warrant the £20m knocked off the mcap from recent highs. This is still a cash machine and printing money regardless.
Even gold $1150 x 80,000oz @$700AISC AAZ would still make approx £28m profit
