Not sure if lloy will get to 120 anytime soon, not too sure about 90p, but it's definitely a prospect.

For ages I was hoping for 60p and then imagining progress upwards once state ownership was over. Nothing lloy is fast, but I would say this is a time to hold rather than sell. It could go either way with the US economy the way it is, so happy to hold and wait. I'd be happy with 90p, very happy with 120p if that's the direction of travel.

This has always been a share that brings out the passions.

Personally I think the best thing when buying shares in a aim listed company, especially if it's not profit making is to limit it to 3% of your portfolio at most. In that way you can be confident that you can lose it all if it goes down and be more relaxed about it.

I wouldn't get carried away. Look at the spread. This often happens with these AIM listed shares.

I saw today's rise hoping it was a good day for VAL, but once I saw the spread I knew this was nothing.

Hopefully though something meaningful does happen over the next few days and the downward trend reversed.

This is driving me nuts. If I brought yesterday I would brought back the shares I sold and got 5% more because of buying back at a lower price. 5% isn't bad but it isn't great. Today we are all expecting an higher open because trump has opened his mouth. So I will miss out on the crash trump caused. Of course it could continue back up to 74 over the next few weeks. Or trump could open his mouth again. Trump is making investing too unpredictable because he is unpredictable. 5% extra shares just isn't enough to derisk unpredictability. I wish he would just go play golf for the next 4 years.

When it comes to regular retail shareholders buying shares I think you have got to accept the risk you are taking.

It looks like my holding is worthless (again)

I could top up and average down but that means more risk.

The important thing to remember with risk is whether you you would accept a risk someone else would not.

Here is a question, would you buy more at a rock bottom price like this if the BOD are not willing to accept that same risk?

Here is another question, what do you think the BOD think of the future of the company if they are not buying?

Anyone know how to take up or reject the rights issue on a LSE/Jarvis account?

On Halifax share dealing this sort of thing is easy, but I don't see any options or any obvious part of the site when I look on my LSE ISA account. I haven't received a letter either to tell me about the rights issue or how to respond to it.

Any LSE/Jarvis users know more or could point me in the righty direction on the site?

Farage is very good at conning people into thinking what's is good for him or is important to him is good/important to the man in the street, even when the man in the street will never have an account at Coutts.

It's just annoying NWG haven't covered themselves in glory (yet again).

Just had a look at my email from simply wall street that told me one of your shares is up 52%. Imagine my surprise when it turned out to be VAL and not just something on my watch list.

I haven'ti looked in here as VAL seemed to be in the doldrums. I had been considering averaging down, but wasn't particulary motivated., still a long way from I need to be to breakeven, but well done to anyone who brought a week or 2 ago. Let's see what happens over the next couple of weeks. Good luck all.

We haven't seen 30p in years, not that I don't think it will happen.

I have to admit when I brought back in 2011 I had no idea of how to value a company and it's only in recent years that I have even become aware of the idea of valuing companies rather than just guessing/wishing for a price.

I woukd be interested to hear from anyone who has a method to value a company that does not turn a profit.

Arguably yes. There would be fewer shares in circulation so when you divide the vale by the lower number of shares , those shares should be worth more.

That said you still got to take into account other factors, such as the debt issue mentioned below, or say legal issues that might relate to certain brands that DGE holds.

Arguably buy backs might obscure that things would otherwise be worse (share price speaking), but perhaps buy back might be a sensible way to preserve share price value. In a nutshell there's too much to a company like DGE to simply assume buybacks automatically translate into a higher share price.

Although its been up and down a bit this week, it been little more than changes in the spread and the SP itself has nicely settled in the 14-15p range. I don't like rapid movements , so now the excitement has died down a bit I am glad we have found a new level. I am looking forward to siting back again and just looking forward to another rise if there are good results.

Not sure if it is possible to come to a credable valuation on a loss making company.

Wish I had thought of that 11 years ago when I brought SCLP. I need circa 40p to break even. I suspect 20p is the price I would consider exiting if I had to.

AIM stocks have been much harder than I thought!

Personally I would be interested to know how anyone has come up with value as it would help me understand how to value companies that don't yet produce profits.

Crikey I haven't looked in on VAL for a while. Seems to have been in the doldrums. I am still massively out of pocket, but nice to see a good day here.

I wouldn't get too excited by the prospect of a nasdaq listing cleaner world.

I remember how everyone got excited by argo blockchain going for it. Turned out to amount to nothing a ARB is now a proper sucker stock.

A listing might be a good thing if it happens, but I would not speculate on it. I still think the best policy right now is to hold tight or sell if you have reached your target (and are in prifit). Furher increases are certainly possible, but I would be cautious about adding at the moment.

Would be good if this is the case. I think this is the dangerous phase of rise in sp.

There are good signs, i.e. the possibility that there is someone accumulating, that the sp is holding dispite a drop off in volume. I think now is the time to step back and consider FOMO. If there are holders out there who have done well don't blow it now by being greedy as it could go either way ( but hopefully up) I would say hold for now.

I don't think a little speculation is a bad thing but I think its wise to get overexcited when it comes to biotech companies. The volume has dropped off the last few days, but thankfully the sp has remained stable. That's a pretty good result as things stand. It could go either way from this ponit. Nice if it goes up again back towards 25p.

I think it's a little bit optimistic to think about predicting where this could go.

To be fair this is a rather volatile company and I would certainly take advantage of another top up at 11p rather than where it is now.

I think the only sensible view when it comes to SCLP is not to get too excited by hype and have a clear view as to what price you want to buy and what price you want to sell. Worrying about if you could have done better will only result in second guessing yourself and making bad trades.
