The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode featuring Jeremy Skillington, CEO of Poolbeg Pharma has just been released. Listen here.
Got to admit I I am a little frustrated with ORPH. My first day of holding was a 5% up and now it seems to only 5% down evey day since. It could be a good buying opportunity, but I don't really want to increase my exposure without doing further research. I brought in because I liked what the company does, but I am wondering if this is a post covid dip or something else. No plans to sell either without furher research.
Stnz I am inclined to agree but only to a ponit. I think ARB is a conviction play and unless I genuinely understood the business I would be hesitant to increase my exposure at this time.
As a small speculative holding it might be worth putting some money in. Personally I am thinkimg of getting in somewhere between 80p and 120p and out hopefully around 150 to 200p after the NASAQ listing (assuming it happens)
However I freely admit if I do buy in it will be a gamble and not a seriously considered investment.
Totally agree Rhubarb. The truly sad thing is what chance the LTHs have?
If this really is G&S posting on here, I don't think they are deserving of any sympathy because what they have lost is nothing compared to the price paid by those who put thier trust in them.
Yeh trading updates and trading results often seem to result in drops if I am holding regardless of how good performance is.
Could be a good top up opportunity. Think I will wait and see what happens early next week. Gla
I got caught out by the ticker change too.
Wow 10 years. I have been in since 2012 (I think) I think I will look tomorrow and find out the day I first brought shares in VAL.
OB you must remember all those posts years ago about how VAL was 6 months behind SCLP. Got to chuckle. It's certainly been a real wild ride
I rook a massive hit on WTG when it was still QPP! As it has been bouncing about between 50p and a £1 for the last couple of years I haven't paid much attention to this share., so no I haven't been looking for RNS releases.
So from a practical ponit of view am I the only shareholder left? Why haven't others just dumped thier shares?
Oh well better start trawling throw RNSs
So what is happening here? Does delisting mean what I think it means? Why is the sp 54p and not 0? Is delisting actually happening? What happens to our shares? Is this just a rumour or is there some substance to this view?
Good ponit select64. I think that is one of the downsides of people being at home all day.
The truly sad thing will be the same sort of behaviour continues when society opens up again.
I would say BOO is a pretty safe investment. Sure the last month has shown a bit of stagnation but I am not losing money. The dips have really been on the back of governance issues. If BOO can keep their nose clean admitidly this seems quite difficult for BOO) this will continue to perform. My contribution to this bb is not going to change anything.
Generally I think everyone has something to contribute even if it's not necessarily a view ponit to which I sucribe. But for the first time I have actually filtered someone because I just see any value in their posts.
Hartlebury, I hadn't thought of that.. Good call, thanks
Thanks Passer, much apreaciated. I was looking for the 2020 accounts, but it seems ORPH submitt these in July.
I am not waiting that long!
The fundimentals look pretty good. Think the rest of my evening is going to be thinking about the balance sheet and making a subscription to my ISA so I am ready when I want to pull the trigger.
Got to admit I like the look of ORPH, good recent performance, revenue generating, directors own a meaningful percentage of the shares the only thing that is making me hold of from pulling the trigger is the regular share issues.
Looking on Companies House under filings and capital it seems shares are issued evey couple of months.
The number of shares being issued each time is quite small so I am not overly concerned. I just don't understand these 'regular' share issues. Does anyone know why ORPH does this rather than say less frequent issues with more shares issued?
Valtree, I am not adverse to an opposing view, but where is this going?
The old BOD weren't removed without reason. I don't see why Suzy wouldn't be qualified. As far as I am aware there are few bars to becoming a director and its not like Suzy doesn't have realvevt qualifications.
The sp is pretty stable circa 20 to 21p so I don't see much to moan about.
Throughout 2019 I was giving warning on this bb because there were plenty of people thinking this was a gem when the sp was moving in one direction down, tomorrow was always a better day to buy. I know know that this was because G&S were fresh out of ideas and were issuing shares like confetti. However this is not the current position. Yes a further dilution might happen, but this would not be uncommon for a highly speculative AIM listed share. I don't see much reason to bash the company other than impatience for a reward for the risk taken. As far as that goes I can only say that you need to own your choice to buy in to VAL.
Oohhh that's painful. I took a punt on ARB in Jan. I made 17% after costs, I sold out laughably early. If I waited a couple of weeks I could have made close to 190%! I just didn't think too much of the company and thought it was momentum trap. However I made money and that's good enough for me. To think otherwise is to fall for the gambler's folly. You lose when you lose and you lose when you win because you'd hadn't doubled the stake. Buying at 5 and selling at 10 wasn't a bad outcome, it is a shame if reget on missing out on a bigger gain turns a person bitter.
Good post. Governance is likely to be an ongoing risk, I suspect one endemic to the industry. Hopefully BOO will learn from the experience and that reputational damage caused by poor governance can hang around for a long time.
Personally its not worth me buying in unless this goes sub 270p and I don't see that happening at the moment.
Hopefully this yoyoing between 315 and 340 is going to end and we can see this making some proper progress on the back of the aquisituons. Gla
The 50dma does seem to be a magnet unfortunately. I am definately thinking of topping up around this level, but happy to wait for payday as this could be a little over valued. Longer term however I think pre brexit levels are achievable.
