Not strictly true. Hyrogen generated from excess wind and solar does not have to be paid for. It essentially free energy storage utilising excess energy which would not be delivered to grid.

eviking, I agree. Any surplus energy not used in the grid can also be used to turn water into hydrogen and oxygen. That hydrogen can then be used to generate energy to balance demand at peak times.

A mixture of wind, solar and hydrogen will eventually be all we need. As wind and solar are fairly well established there are many ways in which they are now looking to incorporate renewable energy storage from their excess generation which would ordinarily be wasted or just turn the blades so no power is generated.

Hydrogen production from excess energy generation can be used to power off grid energy supplies such as those products designed by AFC energy. This is the future and a future which is not to far away. Products are not prototypes and are currently in negotiation with a number of significant interested parties.

Its likely that diesel generators will be phased out and could be replaced with ammonia fuel hydrogen fuel cells. Ammonia being very hydrogen rich.

considering the MCap of other hydrogen sector businesses TPG are lagging. That is without considering the fact that TPG are probably in a better financial position than others and have a profitable business stream.

If this was to rerate just off the back of hydrogen sector and gas production tech an MCap in the £100s of millions. So a share price of 20p is not out of the question. If investors considered the other aspects of the business there is no reason why it should not be much higher.

Just look at ITM. if TPG had a comparable MCap the SP would be looking at £2. Considering the fact that TPG are actually profitable it seems senses that they could have similar tech but be valued at just £59m. Again this does not consider the other business streams that actually generate an income and profit.

Still expecting big things. Considering cashing in BP and splitting the proceeds here and AFC (also undervalued in repsect of peers)

I am invested in BP. I ha enough been increasingly uncomfortable with my investment in oil. It appears there has been a dramatic shift towards hydrogen. Obviously not reflected in the AFC price (yet).

I am currently sitting on a 30% on my BP holding and can't see this returning to my holding value any time soon. I am considering freeing up these funds and putting back into hydrogen and renewables. I will lose the dividend but selceting the right renewable companies could prove the better short and medium term gain in capital.

I am not feeling uncomfortable with my AFC investment. Just frustrated. I can see AFC taking off but the question is when.

Needs some consideration. Cut my loses with BP and take a risk on further AFC investment or diversify into other alternative/renewables.

Tornadotony. AFC Energy are the market leaders in respect of fuel cell technology. They have the most cost effective solution available in respect of off grid EV rapid charging fueled by ammonia cracked on site. This solution overcomes the burden placed on the grid for main connections. They also have a diesel generator replacement which is to be utilised on construction sites and as back up power.

Their next offering, which is due for release is a high density fuel cell. This has now been tested and currently under further development with the end goal to produce 2Mw of power from a 40ft container. This will be ideal for replacing shipping engines and for locomotive.

The beauty is, unlike other fuel cell technology, the fuel cell has been developed to be low cost. AFC are currently gaining CE approval for the product with the expectation that once this is achieved there are significant applications and interested parties.

I hold BP shares and have done for some time but I am getting increasingly concerned in respect to the future demand for oil and how the world is looking to change to sustainable and renewable energy. We will always require oil but I do not think we will see the peaks we did in 2014 period.

I agree, this is painful. Another day and a further drift lower. Just cannot seem to get any momentum behind the 'media storm' to provide a sustainable rise in share price.

I think I have perhaps thought this 3600 times now and still waiting patiently for that fateful day when it all comes true. The day that changes everything.

Haggis, I was hoping that AFC would have pointed them in the direction of an electrolyser company that could use their membrane.

They have intimated that partnerships with non fuel cell users would be the primary option for Alkamem.

BP need to start looking more deeply into production of renewable energy sources. There is significant technology out there that in the hands of someone like BP would put them at a huge advantage over other not adopting this principle. Oil is a dirty word, hydrogen is clean. We will still need oil but we are potentially on the cusp of a shift change towards a much cleaner future. Why would big oil companies not now be looking to diversify and move towards this?

And volume above LSE today. Germans still have an appetite for AFC. Probably not had 10 years of watching daily movements.

Up 13% after LSE close. Just gone up in a straight line this evening. Expect it to return to normal on opening tomorrow.

There seems to be a bit of interest in Brew Dog from the AFC management team. I am sure its not just for the beer.

Brew dog are looking to be carbon neutral in 24 months and have put together a diagram to show how.

They intend to use electric fleet vehicles and clean water through reverse osmosis. I can only assume that AFC may have been in talks about the exchange membrane for the reverse osmosis and perhaps off grid chargers for the fleet

holding long myself. Been invested in AFC for 10 years look at them today. Also down 6-7% on nothing. Never attacked the dips but seriously considering it as the price present good value.
