Fairview, hydrogen can be produced from waste energy or energy that is not stored when produced. An example of this would be offshore wind, utilising the energy when demand is low to crack water into its component parts. This is using green energy to store hydrogen which can then be used in a fuel cell when demand is high.

There are plenty of examples of green ways of producing hydrogen and/or ammonia. The ChlorAlkali industry simply vents or vented waste hydrogen to atmosphere. This was the initial focus of AFC.

Ammonia is also produced naturally by decomposition of plants and animal products. You can smell it your weekly collection food waste bin when the weather is hot. It has a very distinctive smell. I would imagine it would be easily compressed and sold as fuel for producing hydrogen and nitrogen waste.

I think they will receive orders on or after the demonstration once successful. As they know it will be they have geared up for this inevitability.

BoardsOfUK, Having held shares in AFC for the last 9 years I would not say that in the current condition AFC is a punt any longer. They have positioned the business to commercialisation with multiple products available for a multitude of applications. The product is not only highly efficient it is also low cost which was the business objective. Instead of developing tech, designing systems and producing a product that is expensive and inefficient, just green, AFC have made it their objective to achieve low cost, efficient AND green in a multi billion pound market. This is just the start of commercialisation and business transformation.

AFC had the vision and potential to develop and manufacture the most cost effective fuel cell system developed. We are now at that point. It's been a long wait and very frustrating and there have been dark days but the long term holders have kept each other positive. There has been some very valuable posters that without, many may have lost a lot.

Huge buy from personal funds. Worth it for the dividend alone.

Completely agree. The big oil companies have interest in this technology. A few pounds on the share price is peanuts to those giants and really is not unrealistic for an efficient product, commercially viable, non polluting, emission free, multiple market piece of kit.

I am now actually in profit. I have promised my self that if the price returns to around 12p i will buy some more. Not sure that this will actually happen now.

I would like to think that when an order is received it will include a payment on signing of the contract. This should allow manufacturing to be self financing and avoid dilution of any sorts.

BMac, you are a genius. As we have already pointed out, the current value of AFC is based upon the IP. There are many fuel cell companies out there which sell their products but not many or none that are commercially viable. The whole point of the extended R&D was to bring down the cost of the product to a level which makes it commercially viable before bringing it to market. Well that's where we are now. Look at Ballard and Bloom. Massive MCap in comparison to AFC. Profit equals none or negative. The EV charger market and in particular Rolec is highly profitable. Just check out their business account on line. Turnover doubling from 2017 to 2018. The AFC product is no brainer and the market is starting to realise that. You sold too early. Live with it. Long term holders do not need your review on turnover and profitability, fund raising and sales. We know the current position and this is the transition to a commercial business.
