Long range linear fracturing :- that’s not what to expect in this strata more like localised short earthquake faults/cracking. More likely found in gas fields where gas follows linear faulting and keeps filling the reservoir.

Controlled drilling positions around the Decline route will dry up that route quite quickly but still draw in water from the surrounding aquifer. It’s a contained aquifer where in the hell will uncontrolled flooding come from it’s CONTAINED.

It’s a Tillite strata meaning all the debris left over from a retreating glacier, they’ve shown its size on plans but I doubt if they really know its boundaries yet. It’s been covered and put under great pressure trapping probably an ancient lake. The main issue with this water it is hypersaline, you wouldn’t machines in too much contact with it, as it could effect the hydraulic seals and rubbers.

Shaun has told us this rock is weeping not running water.

I can’t read what this new troll is saying but I can see from replies he’s trying to instill doubt in peoples minds about the aquifer.

I’ve been chatting about these aquifers since they were first documented in 2021, the first 2 have been successfully encountered and the Decline has passed through these.

These 2 were problematic in that the ground conditions were very poor, the third one yet to be entered by the Decline is totally different, the rock is strong to very strong according to the early environmental reports.

It’s the water quantity and the high saline consistency which are the issues.

The first 2 water extraction was different it could be reused as the salt content was low.

The lower aquifer was drilled in 2020 and a lot of folk on here thought they were drilling another target where I was quite aware that they drilling the planned route for the Decline and this would have included hydrological boreholes for water assessments. Petrology estimates of P90 and P10 (high and low) were given for the 3 aquifers. The lower one was at that time on the low side of average. Since then they’ve redesigned the route and drilled more test hole, now these apparently have shown up that the rock is very porous with higher than average P50 estimate, therefore the 3 additional evaporation ponds were designed and additional liners ordered.

Subsequent drilling to gain of this aquifer has found the porous nature of this rock is not as bad as the last report suggested. The Decline route has been altered again to target a bump in the basement level probably found while investigating the Aquifer, this new route has the less porous rock. The saline water is still there but doesn’t flow well on this new route.

The Decline would have had to stop at some point so that the ventilation system could be remodelled for the continuing Decline development. The reassessment of the route has probably benefited from the delays caused by Newmont takeover and the hydrological reassessments.

NEM want cash from Telfer/Havieron to reduce their debt burden. Not sure Shaun would want to give away 1.5%.

The Juri jv though is a real possibility of NEM walking away but retain a Royalty %.

I can see Rio doing the same.

I’m still hoping Ggp take over the Antipa jv with possibly NEM having a Royalty there as well. The Parklands target looks interesting.

If Newmont retain 70% ownership the capex to complete the infrastructure to First Ore would have to come from Newmonts capex budget. Their 10 tier 1 mines would take priority over Havieron. What I am saying is the capex draw down from that budget for Havieron will be minimal therefore delaying timelines.

I’m not sure whether I’ve changed my mind. The 3 scenarios I’ve mentioned all have pros and cons.

Keeping the 30% we have a chance of losing some strong members of the Board, however the debt costs will be a lot lower.

Having 100% Havieron we will have to pay tolling processes to whoever gets Telfer or build a new plant and solar/wind farm. In this case the Board should remain intact. The revenues will be huge.

Telfer and Havieron I’m still unconvinced any Ore at Telfer will last more than 2 years at most. Whether Ggp can squeeze more out of weaker zones I’m not sure. The AISC is very high, I’m sure Shaun will squeeze that down as Ggp being a smaller entity hasn’t the same overheads. Initially the production will propel Ggp into a different company until Havieron gets going.

Having T/H is probably the best way forward.

The last RNS has picked up on this and gives an average distance of 25km between each 1moz mine.

“ Within the Eastern Goldfields the average spacing of deposits with total endowment of +1Moz Au, or +100Kt Ni is ~26km(2). The strike length available to Greatland to explore prior to this release was 40km of the total 130km covered by Greatland leases and applications. With the grant of Mount Smith this available strike length increases to 90km.”

We have available at the moment 90km to explore at 25km per 1moz that’s nearly 4 mines minimum.

Still 40km to obtain Heritage permissions.

All initial exploration looks for the basement lithologies. This allows planning for follow up drilling, ie whether to RC or Diamond drill.

A lot of explorers use the cheaper air core drilling, it’s cheap because it’s hit and miss and may not get very deep if it hits hard rock.

100m is about a max , our exploration team seems more precise they don’t drill like that, they use data to pin point drill targets.

If you look at that link I posted earlier on Ggpchat that cross section where I’ve drawn on the basement contour from a line of drills is a good way to understand what’s happening down there. These were RC drills they then extended these drills with diamond cores. Cores are the best method to understand the geology, aircore blasts the geology to bits, RC is bagged in samples

Meadows alone could be 30kms long, the historical drills have been wildcat so needle in a haystack fits that description.

The last 2 drills were just drilling through the basement to gain knowledge of the geology.

They should have gained a great deal of knowledge from those 2.

An RC campaign will continue to test the cover/ basement. Hopefully they will include a few diamond drills to test the basement again.

Question:- What is the point of other exploration licences?

Grow the company.

To build up Licences to sell on/ gain Royalties.

Build up licences to develop.

I don’t consider these other licences and there are many at the moment a waste of available funds. Building up assets is the best way to grow a company.

The size of Ernest Giles licence is huge, if it is interpolated onto a map of London it would go 2/3rds round the M25.

Now looking at other mines in the area and there are a lot, there’s nothing like this under one ownership. All the greenstone areas look to have multiple mines / ownerships.

Ernest Giles is 100% Ggp.

“ The results indicate an encouraging broad, weak (Au-Ag-Cu-Zn) mineralisation. This could be the edge of a larger system. The anomalism is geologically controlled by generally east-dipping vein sets and vein-associated alteration. A correlation was noted between the weak gold-silver mineralised intercepts, geochemically anomalous, low order bismuth (Bi) values and the chlorite-carbonate alteration zones. The peak Cu value of 1,178ppm from 390.2m in EGD006 was in a highly sulphidic altered BIF unit. These associations can be used to better target further drilling.”

Early days yet they’ve only put 2 holes into the basement of this vast area but looks very promising with au ag Zn and cu there.

Veins are what they’re looking for.

They will never find Had005 type results but you never know.

It’s Nov I posted the cross section across meadows showing the drill logs. On this I marked in green the contour of the basement. From that you can see most of the drills just poked into the basement structure.

I circled Red what the 2 last drills were targeting, the one on the left is where the banded iron is located.

The next post shows a historical map of the Meadows area showing the gravity survey positions and the wildcat drilling following these.

The new season should be targeting the southern end of Meadows about 8kms long.

Meadows overall could be 30kms long and the surveys for the northern end look better than the southern, so will they stick a drill in up there?

How about this bit after Newmont left their survey data behind :-

“ DSG survey was also successful in identifying overall basement lithological trends and recognised a belt parallel alteration signature commonly associated with large scale mineralised systems.”

Well the last RNS from EG showed 2 parallel systems a banded iron and a granotoid.

The other goldfields on this belt are mainly producing from banded iron formations.

The other green stone belts have made small companies into mid tier producers.

A decent exploration season hitting the right veins could propel Ggp while Havieron future is in negotiations.

Having other exploration targets is very important for Ggp to progress to mid tier.

Havieron is a company , EG is a company maker.
