I asked a similar question to Shaun prior to the Sustainability Report coming out.
From that report you can see there are only renewable energies to supply electricity to run Havieron.
We need to separate the 2 projects:-
Havieron can run on electric (at the moment)
Telfer needs electricity and gas.

Havieron will be using a new fleet of Volvo 40ton electric trucks. At this stage I’m not sure if these will be automated with no drivers, it’s a distinct possibility.
All the infrastructure will be run on electricity.
Cadia has contracts with electricity providers for renewable resources namely wind turbines and solar, so that’s a big clue what to expect ie Havieron and maybe Scallywag covered in turbines and solar panels feeding Havieron and Telfer.

Telfer on the other hand is a processing plant for gold Dore and copper concentrate and this needs heat.
This heat at the moment is provided by gas and some diesel generators.
There are 2 types of copper ores:- oxides and sulphides
Oxides can be leached by acid processes so doesn’t need gas. This is what Telfer is doing at the moment leaching their ores.

Sulphides need heat and require high temperatures so gas is needed. This is what Havieron ores are ie sulphides.

Looking at Australia as a whole it looks like there will be green hydrogen hubs or supply centres.
Rio is doing this off the coast of Queensland at their aluminium processing plant on an island. They are forming a green hydrogen hub.
Fortesque are going to be doing this on a big scale in the Pilbara and I would think that Port Hedland may become a large green hydrogen hub.
Hydrogen would then be sent to Telfer down the pipeline.

Newcrest or Ggp in the future could decide to produce their own hydrogen and pump it back to Port Hedland for export.
When the electric truck fleet is replaced they could very well turn to hydrogen trucks, a lot of mines are going that route.
There is still a risk of combustion from the lithium ion batteries so electric trucks are not necessarily safe until solid state batteries can be produced in bulk.

It was great to meet up again last year , coming over to Suffolk this year hopefully we might be able to meet up.
I’ve been saying this will be a huge mine for almost 2 years now, some areas of the orebody have exceeded my expectations while some areas are still catching up them.
The growth zones are going to continue to grow next year. I thought the drilling would slow down this year or thought it would stop until the underground drilling could start up but that big drill coming in shortly will bring new deeper zones into play.

Yes I know it feels like an age.
There are so many of you silent readers out there and many I’ve met going round the numerous events last year, I would like to urge you to post to drown out the negativity.
Two of these have been pestering me for 2 years now or more and LSE seem to take no action, but my friend Dave is eager to meet them.
Very exciting news flow coming this year it will drown out these doom merchants.
My thoughts of this share being a strong buy remains the same , but i always say it’s your decision to buy with your money not mine.
I will keep informing this board of any information i glean from my research to help you with your own .

It’s by Callum’s photo I’ve marked up the zones of bismuth.
Newcrest have also drilled those other anomalies shown to the south and have come back with no significant assays

There’s nothing in the southwest of the orebody that’s why the infrastructure has been put there.
Loads of drills went in there before the Box cut was placed there for 2 reasons to prove any mineralisation was uneconomic or not present and secondly to gain knowledge of the underground water system .
The geological presentation last Summer showed a bismuth anomaly under the cover by the Box cut.
An historical drill Hac005 proved no significant results to about 100m below the cover.

The orebody is not going to the SW it’s going to the SE and East

We all know the sp dropped a lot but it certainly didn’t drop as much as the likes of Rio.
I invested here to start with very low and I’m not really interested in daily swings.
I know where this share is heading I don’t need a niggling commentary.
Please start your own thread up about the share price and keep it off others’ threads I’m certainly not interested.

Wants interesting about Carrapateena is that they changed the mining plan so that the SLC plan only went down halfway and the rest was sequenced as a Bulk cave plan. This had an effect of lowering the economic cut off grades and 65% of the ore became economical to bulk cave even though it had grades below the cut off.
That would have a fantastic increase in economical ore if that happens at Havieron.
I can’t see it happening though our high grade is far too high to mix with the lower grades and SLOS mining will probably still be dominant here until the bulk caving of the Eastern Breccia starts

Carrapateena is about 5 years in front of Havieron.
Just about 3 years from start of Decline to production.
3.5 years till first concentrate produced
Payback in 5 years 2024(Havieron 3-4 years 2027)
AISC around $600-700 per ounce but in copper so $1.36/lb.
91% copper recovery grades(Havieron 82-84%)
Gold recovery 71% (Havieron 88-90%,Red Chris 55%)
No Dore produced just concentrate.
Mainly bornite and Chalcopyrites so high levels of copper.
30-40% copper in the concentrate(Havieron 25-30%)
It’s a very comparable orebody except it’s more copper mineralisation due to the bornite.
Havieron will produce gold Dore before the concentrate goes off to shipment ie earlier revenues

Copper dominated ores have less gold grades and recovery factors are lower due to the processes involved in obtaining the concentrate.
Revenues from gold / copper ores have higher revenues than copper/ gold, depending on grades of course but generally copper concentrate grades are getting lower globally

Have a look at the horizontal fan drilling by Oz resources from their Decline.
I’m expecting similar at Havieron in late 2023

That would be for an average of 0.2g/t without copper credits down to 1300m deep, so it’s a very conservative figure.
The sp can only be worked out on known figures , our known knowledge is still 12 months out of date.
Is the sp therefore 12 months out of date?

You would need a computer with their software modelling updated with the latest results to give an accurate volume.
In that link what I’ve tried to get over is that the results are still behind my calculations and the average is creeping ever closer to the 0.75g/t.
The next MRE should show a major jump but it will probably still be 6 months or so behind the latest results.
When the underground fan drilling starts this should improve the average dramatically

From those 3 graphics of the 3D we can see what volumes of ore we had as at December 2021 for >2g/t, >1g/t and >0.5g/t.
The >0.5g/t graphics shows approximately 90% of the ore body filled, so it’s approaching my average of 0.75g/t to achieve the values in my calculations.
The drill logs though have cut offs of 0.2g/t, so what do you think would happen on a graphic showing >0.2g/t.
Well it would probably be getting close to filling the orebody to 100%.
Telfer are still mining weak ore around the 0.1g/t value.
At Havieron 0.1g/t would show up as a much enlarged ore body out to the alteration boundaries shown on the latest Newcrests plans.

Economically what does this mean:-
31 grams to an ounce
$1800 ounce gold price
$1050 AISC gold cost per ounce (ex copper)
Around 1.2bn tons

0.2g/t = 155 ton per ounce =$11.62 per 0.2
Minus $6.77 cost per ounce
=$4.85 profit per 0.2 over 1.2bn tons.
PS
( I’ve kept the tonnage lower than I believe it to be to cater for 6% depletion and 88% recovery factor.)
(I’ve excluded copper from this)

Therefore an average of >0.2g/t
Has a profit of >$4.85 per ton for 1.2 bn tons + the copper credits
Of which 30% is Ggp >$1.455 per ton profit

I’m still saying an average 0.75g/t is achievable .
