Dow have been involved for a while now along with Merck and Kyulux (google them).
The US company has been kept a secret due to signing NDA. There's speculation it could Apple or other big tech name - but that's just guessing on LTHs part so don't fall into that trap!
see also the RNS on 4th Jan - very exciting stuff going on:
Plessey Semiconductors and Nanoco Technologies today announced a partnership to shrink the pixel size of monolithic microLED displays using Nanoco's cadmium free quantum dot (CFQD® quantum dots) semiconductor nanoparticle technology. Using its existing monolithic process, Plessey will integrate the Nanoco CFQD® quantum dots into selected regions of blue LED wafers to add red and green light. This shrinks the smallest practical pixel size from today's 30µm to just 4µm, a reduction of 87%. The process will enable the production of smaller, higher-resolution, microLED displays in applications such as AR/VR devices, watches, and mobile devices, while enhancing both colour rendition and energy efficiency.
For pixels of 30µm or greater, colour conversion is currently performed by adding phosphors to the blue die. However, since the smallest phosphor particle is around 30µm, the efficiency of colour conversion deteriorates as the pixel size shrinks. Nanoco's CFQD® quantum dot technology overcomes this limitation while facilitating efficient, compact device packaging.
"Quantum dots offer the best solution for today's emerging display requirements. The nano-sized emitters with narrow band emission make them a suitable solution for Plessey's microLED display roadmap, which will see pixels being driven down to 4µm in size by 2019,"
Hi MT, I've been in NANO just over 3 years now, I always tend to invest too early in tech stocks! There was a large price gain upto 70p+ and I rode it from 50p then sold some off and held the rest.
There is a lot of stuff going on behind the scenes, refer to the RNS' but the main points for me are:
1) The extension of the contract from an undisclosed US company to take more nano materials - this company FUNDED the production expansion for Nano to increase their output!
2) Wider usage applications for nano dots - TV, lighting, health care, radar sensors etc - they have around 600 patents!
3) Expected to be profitable this year
Theres a guy called Nigwit on the BB who is very well researched - read some of his comments as well as the links he posts which all look positive for Nano.
Good luck if you decide to invest!
Sold BPC after today's spike - took a small loss which was more than covered by NANO and HNR gains.
That's 3 spec shares I've been able to exit so far this year (GGP and UKOG few weeks back) - got loads more to get rid of but will wait for right conditions.

Thanks BB, I know VAL effed up overall however I was able to exit at a profit - another share that I had pinned my hopes on but luckily realised very quickly it was another POS Pump and Dump stock!
Lefkosia - never heard that saying about the bird in Strand but it made me chuckle :)
Mosh - you got the foundation right, keep the majority of your money in low cost funds and good quality stocks, and have a small pot for the riskier plays. How big the pot is depends on your risk appetite and level of skill in picking good stocks.
Some homework for you, before you start buying SAV, NCCL etc can you please do some research on each stock and come back with a list of pros and cons of investing in each one? Add HNR to your list as well as any others you have come across. The aim is to give you an understanding on why you should buy A instead of B.
There's also day trading which is not investing. Look up Lefkosia - he's on one of these boards and see how he trades on technicals and price resistance. Not my cup of tea but lots of people do it.
Interesting video on FX manipulation

Let me know what you think (the FX traders here). I've never traded FX myself as it just seems too corrupt to me.
Cam was ECHO your special stock you wanted to pile into?
Theres only one high conviction stock in my portfolio right now and that's HNR - very deeply invested and sp has come down to all time low. They have 8 wells pumping out O&G although they only get a 7.5% cut from that, they are not operating these wells therefore no cost, so company will be fully funded and cashflow positive with no debt.
Nitrogen gas fields and helium assets are the ones we're waiting for - I'm fully loaded at higher prices so no more buys for me.
Same situation here on NCCL - will be out on JDA news as and when it comes!
Bloody AXM - up 40% on new NOMAD news otherwise would have been suspended - who would have expected that? I'm still under on my holding - need 0.17 for a clean exit.
