I don't know if that is reassuring or not. Given that market sentiment is driving the SP lower and £8 seems some way off (never mind £17), it makes me think finncap 'price targets' aren't worth the paper they are written on....unless one runs out of toilet paper.
It must be a wonderful job being a finncap analyst....I wonder if they use a 'pin the tail on the donkey' methodology or some hitech random number generator software!!

Not the RNS I was expecting. In previous years the annual report would have been out by now.
Nothing spectacular in the Q1 figures IMO. Usual statements of a 'harsh Kazakh winter' and a 'grade improvement with the new equipment', which was to be expected I suppose.
It was interesting to see milled ore increase, which means they are increasing processing (albeit slowly) and using up some of the stockpile.
So a 'solid' if unspectacular start to the year. Big question of financing and what they have planned for next 2-3 years will only be answered in the full report....hopefully answered!!

It is difficult to watch CINE being driven towards a potential crisis by events that are arguably beyond their control. Probably more bad luck than management hubris, regardless it is not pleasant for shareholders. Hopefully things will recover. I cannot help thinking this will be bought by a hedge fund but at the moment that is likely to be for peanuts rather than pounds.

Another buying 'opportunity' today. Market seems to be flip flopping between positive & negative sentiment. Hard to see which way it will finally go.
Tories preparing for 'talks' with EU over NI protocol by saying it would be legal to tear up the deal. Seems unlikely they would carry this out cause consequences potentially huge....more uncertainty however.

It is hardly a negative view to believe that market conditions may drive the SP lower and create an opportunity to get in or add at a lower price. If I bought at 300p just because I had a positive view it wouldn't make me feel any better at current SP (I was positive then & I am positive now, but I wish I had waited!!)
I am positive about LGEN but wouldn't be surprised if general market conditions made it fall a bit further....although 200p would be a steal IMO.

Tricky, there used to be a term, 'political correctness', which means far more to me but is hardly used nowadays. I don't understand the term 'woke' and there are undertones of 'them & us' that worries me (for we are all in the same boat).
Politics has become so toxic in the USA and it is becoming more so here. It is hard to see where it will end but I doubt it is for the better.

Russ Mould of AJ Bell mentioned the shape of the US bond yield curve recently, however I didn't really understand what he was talking about. I think the problem is that everyone is guessing at the moment....and looking for a crystal ball into the future.

It is about judgement isn't it. Read the signs, analyse them and then make a decision based on risk/reward.
Putin may end the war after his parade next week and sue for peace....it could happen! But what are the realistic chances?

Gold production was forecast to be 30,000 oz (2021 financial year), and it will be circa 28,500 oz.
It will be interesting to see whether they stick to their forecast to reach 38,000 oz gold production next year. According to company figures they 'planned' to spend $26m on underground development alone next year, plus all the other investment of course. I can see a rethink on the cards. Those gold plated executive toilets will have to be sent back (hopefully they kept the receipt).

RB, as you rightly say the financing is the key unanswered question. Finance may be even more difiicult since the start of the war....with finance through Russia problematic to say the least (after talk last year of a Russian bond!!??!!)
I expect they will bumble along , making a profit but not enough to leverage the business into the next league.
