I respect your right to do it but what help do you want from us to help you achieve your goal.
One minute it's invest in Easyjet, next it's invest in bonds....just don't invest in LGEN!
Perhaps LGEN is a halfway house between bonds & the next hot stock!! Some people might want a fairly secure income (somewhat like a bond) but with the possibility for growth (don't anyone laugh).
Chasing the next investment hot thing will soon have one investing in Bitcoin, Tulip bulbs & other such things. Fine for a quick buck but not sensible for a SIPP probably.
Reminds me of the analogy of a secondary school class discussing finances...."Young Andy, we know you have a problem with this particular topic, what can we do to get you over this hurdle and onto something more interesting?"!

That's the problem isn't it....there are a lot of fantasists on bulletin boards. There are very few who post in real-time their trades. The rest of us are investors who have never had an investment go wrong, we are the British equivalents of Warren Buffet (in our own minds).
If you believe what people say on bulletin boards - apart from the rare people who record their trades - then you probably need your head testing.

Noggin, sounds like they have ended the advert free trial period. All good things must come to an end....annoying when it happens though. Hopefully you will continue watching.

I presume you mean will it crack 90 and stay above it.....sometimes see spikes in shares that only seem to last a few minutes.

I find some of his comments quite interesting....perhaps he has mellowed in his old age or has got his 'pleasant' hat on.

Any guidance on when dividend payments will be restarted?....sometime this century hopefully!

So you want instant profit from day one?....I don't think investing always works like that.
Some investments provide more income than growth, some provide more growth than income......blimey I feel like I'm trying to teach investing in a secondary school.
Basically I assume you're a grown up, if you don't like the way LGEN is being run or is performing there are plenty of other investments probably more suited to your requirements (but you'll have to find them for yourself).
BTW it isn't a loss until you sell....same for profit really!

It could quite easily be a strategy by Apollo to buy shares in a 'cheap' company, make an informal 'off the record' offer, leak the 'offer', then sell into the bounce.
Perhaps there isn't really a genuine intention to make an offer. But it suits WG because they can highlight that the company is undervalued and if there are other interested parties it could stir them into action.
Possibly market manipulation but quite clever if this is what's happening....win, win scenario...apart from investors buying into the bounce if it is a false dawn.

Happy, I expect a lot of infrastructure companies are planning for the de-carbonisation of societies in the years ahead and working out what capabilities they need. So there is investment in green infrastructure projects plus the investment in energy security highlighted by the Ukraine war. I would have thought WG has a lot of the engineering experience that in the coming years/decades could be in demand. So didn't surprise me that a hedge fund have spotted the opportunity to get WG for a good price. If other companies are also thinking the same they might want to throw their hat in the ring, FOMO is a powerful thing.

Happy, my point was that your mistake reminded me of the villain in the Austin Power movie who wanted to ransom the world for £10m....because their brain was stuck in the 1960's James Bond villain era (BTW the film is a comedy I think).
But soon we'll be talking in Trillions rather than Billions....fun, fun, fun!
Hopefully WG don't mistakenly sell the company for £5m....that wouldn't be good!!

If there are multiple firms crunching the numbers on WG & contemplating an offer then they might be spurred into action. Yesterdays RNS was sort of like the management informally putting the 'for sale sign up' but with the caveat of 'serious offers only'.

Personally I don't know who to believe. Usually things are never as black as the blackest predictions and never as rosy as the rosier end of the spectrum.....50 shades of gray.

To expect a share to behave differently than it has done in the past seems a little optimistic to me. Like going into Homebase and complaining that they don't sell fresh fruit...."sorry, sir, this is a hardware store, we can sell you a power drill but if you want an orange go to the green grocers next door".
LGEN is about income, other investments are more suitable for growth imo.
PS I wouldn't mind a bit of growth, just I'm not expecting much.
