Odysseus, I would recommend ignoring Amanda, it is a waste of time trying to converse with her.

It reads like you are deciding on the risk & rewards of FUM. Long term I don't know if FUM has the products to make a profitable company. Short term - with the likes of Amanda driving up the SP on zero news - then their is a profit to be made. Anyone who bets the house on FUM for a long term reward is either very brave or very foolish (IMO) - probably both. As you wisely say, a bit of a gamble with money you are comfortable losing is sensible...or invest in something else entirley (a holiday to Spain perhaps!!)

The authors include Professor David Ralph (a consultant for FUM...currently on one of FUM's advisory panels) and Tim Holland (possibly still employed by FUM...he was on last years webcast I believe).

Hopefully the link will give you access to the full report. It should really be available via the FUM website but I don't know if it is. As ever as time passes it becomes more difficult to access information.

theItalian, I take it you are 'topping' up on anticipation of some postive news in the full year results in September (?), rather that the unexplained purchases? - which happened to coincide with ramping(!?) activity of Amanda & Goldilocks99.

Just a few comments on your excellent post...nitpicking is my forte!!

To say MED3000 (Dermasys base formulation) was never a placebo doesn't quite agree with the facts...for whan a trial refers to 'randomized, double-blinded, placebo-controlled', one has to assume that there is a placebo of sorts involved. Perhaps you meant to say the 'in your opinion' MED3000 wasn't really a placebo as such. I can agree with that, the 'placebo' (Dermasys) was really a base formulation used to determine the effectiveness of the active ingredient (GTN...akin to nito-glycerine btw not nitrile).

My answer: They did...the FM53 P2 trial results published in 2017 showed the same strong response for the placebo (now renamed MED3000)...unfortunately FUM were focussed on the active ingredient and ignored the results of the 'placebo'....instead they increased the strength/concentration of the active ingredient to overcome the 'placebo' effect in the P3 trial FM57...and we are where we are.

I am 'happy' to admit when I am in error, for it means I have learned something new. I don't have a closed mind like some. But please do enlighten me...where have I erred this time? (fantasy projections on share price for some time in the future don't count....SP is currently circa 15p which is a long way from £1.08 btw)

theItalian, I was aware that your approach to regulatory approval was 'realistically cautious' (indeed you had anticipated the recent FDA news) . I would suggest that regulatory approval takes as long as it takes but there could be bumps along the way...but you are anticipating rewards that are worth the risk(s). Sensible IMO.

I disagree with you that the conversations (arguments!) we have are just 'noise' that investors should ignore. I would 'argue' that sensible investors should make their own judgement about the merits of the things being discussed and factor them into their own risk/reward calculations. I would hate for an investor to bet their shirt on FUM based on what the likes of Amanda say...and to be 'disappointed' if Amanda's forecasts fall short. Hopefully anything I write will not put off someone from having a bit of a punt on FUM...just on the understanding that there are risks. FUM ain't for widows & orphans.

theItalian, who would underwrite the marketing budget if not the licensee?..certainly not FUM (it isn't in their business model & they don't have the resources anyway).

All this 'talk' about FUM getting EU regulatory approval late this year or early next may be wishful thinking. Unless EU regulators have changed their modus operandi, things often take longer than expected (IMO). There is the possibility the regulator asks for more information or additional data (similar to the FDA), as one 'expert' source wrote, ".... as medical device filings are usually approved or not within 6 months of filing." So FUM might wait 6 months, just to be told the application has failed - for some 'unexpected' reason - at which point FUM would have to amend their application and start the waiting process again. At least the FDA approach avoids that 6 month delay...they tell you of any shortcomings at the start.

theItalian, this probably raises quite an important issue for Mr Barder ('the dealmaker') when he negotiates with the 'multiple' pharma companies who are fighting other tooth & nail to secure the rights to MED3000...in the past Mr Barder has signed deals that at first sight looked quite good, but when it finally came to marketing the product the wheels fell off the wagon. There wasn't enough cash allotted to market the product effectively and sales were very poor (or that was the reason blamed). Perhaps FUM have learned from the lesson(s)...but it could be a compromise between upfront payment & marketing budget. A big cash downpayment but a small budget for marketing wouldn't be optimal...although money to pay for the FDA trial would be nice (to avoid a nasty rights issue).

BruceJ, it was fairly obvious that Fortacin isn't a rival product to MED3000...theItalian was ploughing another furrow!!

theItalian, I believe that PET500 (FUM's discontinued product) was for premature ejaculation (PE). Sales in USA were similarly very poor and before too long it was quietly forgotten. I suspect it was seen as an 'experiment' by FUM's management just to prove (possibly to themselves) that they could actually get a product to market. I'm not sure if they blamed the poor sales on a lack of marketing budget...but I don't believe they used the 'embaressment factor' excuse.

PS In the age of interweb sales I would expect the 'embaressment factor' to be 'almost' negligible...they 'probably' deliver in brown paper parcels nowadays!! Much more important is that the product does what it says on the tin...and that there is a clear increase in performance over rival products.

Daisan, winters in Kazakhstan can be long & hard - not even global warming is going to change that for a while yet - to pretend otherwise is fooling nobody. Summers are easy mining and they have to maximise production. Winter is when things are harder. They have to 'winterize' their production facilities & equipment...it's a serious business.

Do love GoT though and cannot miss an opportunity to use 'Winter is coming'....I don't think they have dragons in Kaz...Eagles yes!

I expect investors are waiting to see the next production figures. There may be an expectation that they are going to be very good - given some of the ambitious targets announced by the company recently - but realistically the next set of figures aren't going to set the world on fire. A steady increase without any major setbacks is probably the best that can be hoped for. Winter is coming & it will be interesting to see if they can get through it unscathed & still on target, but we won't find that out until next year.
Overall next the next year or two is when ALtn have to really deliver on their promises. Hopefully ALtn have managed to kick the habit of stumbling from one setback to another via the odd disaster.

A buyback cannot be used to drive up the SP...I believe they call that market manipulation.

Aren't there specific rules about how many they can buy (based on overall trading volume) and also the share price (probably based on previous days trading). I expect there is an amazingly complicated formula.
