Why would I invest (even more) in FUM when there is some form of fund raising just around the corner? Could be clarification in 4 - 5 weeks at Interim results.

Crusader, there was no mention of 'microneedles' in Goldilocks posts...so it was perfectly correct of me to point out that the technology being used in the new vaccine patches under research aren't in any way similar to any technology that FUM possess.

The thing about vaccines is that a controlled amount of the vaccine has to be administered for efficacy & safety reasons. Too little and it won't provide the required protection and too much and there could be adverse reactions. Unfortunately IMO Dermasys isn't an appropriate technology because there isn't enough control of the level of absorption (too many variables e.g. atmospheric conditions, type of skin etc) and that's even before considering whether the vaccine itself could even be forced through the skin barrier by Dermasys (unlikely IMO). The skin is an effective barrier to viruses - if it wasn't we would be truly fcukd - and a vaccine is often derived from some biologically engineered form of the virus itself (although I expect other approaches are now available). SO to get the vaccine through the skin it has to be pierced...hence the microneedles.
SO Dermasys is likely to fail on so counts...it cannot control the quantity of vaccine delivered and it probably cannot even get the vaccine through the skin.

But I suppose on Fantasy island anything is possible.

PS I met Jesus once...a nice chap from South America. He didn't perform any miracles. Perhaps FUM could employ him and he could perform one there!!!

Jesus, it's like dealing with a bunch of kids!! Before people start wetting themselves in anticipation that FUM's SP will quadruple on the news tomorrow morning...here are my thoughts!!

The skin patches contain microneedles - no use of Dermasys or any technology that FUM specialise in.

The reason for the interest...it's so that the vaccine can be self-administered, making the roll out of the vaccine to the world's population both easier & cheaper. Especially relevant in third world countries where they don't necessariy have the number of trained nurses to deliver the vaccine in sufficient quantity & at sufficient speed. There is also talk that the vaccine may require 2 doses and protection may only last a year. So alternative methods of administering the vaccine would be very useful.

But alas FUM & Dermasys ain't in the picture...unless you live on Fantasy island!!

Eddie, I agree with you...but ultimately some of the issues you mention aren't really for us to comment on. If Americans want to have easy access to guns and kill each other then that is their business.
On lack of 'affordable care', again we cannot really pretend to be 'holier than though...yes we have the NHS but our social care system is a disgrace (and has been for decades) which has recently contributed to many deaths during the pandemic.
Americans the society they want (because they vote for the people in charge)...but I do agree that from an outsiders viewpoint they deserve better.

'Drain the samp' is a political catchphrase designed to appeal to a certain section of the electorate who feel left behind by 'globalisation'. There will always be a 'swamp'...power attracts people who start off with the best intentions but ultimately get corrupted - or at least changed by 'the swamp'.
Trump may be attempting to 'drain the swamp' (not sure if he is...don't know really) but if he does succeed he will just create a 'Swamp' that he has designed.
You can bet that Trump family businesses are benefiting quite nicely from his presidency - whether intentionally or by 'accident' - if that ain't a 'Swamp' then I'm an alligator.

Personally I don't try to hang my hat on unknowns....but I also try not to ignore an elephant in the room (even a currently quite small & contained one). I mention it in passing only. But don't be surprised if lots of companies use Coronavrius (probably legitimately) for underperforming, missed targets or additional delays...it is 'almost' inevitable.
When companies like FUM say they are 'virtual' and not impacted by the pandemic, I wish them luck but take such statements with a pinch of salt. Everyone is impacted or will be to some extent. Sometimes one can find workarounds like 'virtual trials' (good find that), other times one cannot.

100% agree. It is amazing that a country so full of talented people and the best they could come up with to run against Trump is Joe.
Mind you, we have Boris...so we cannot throw stones!!

There are minnows, then there are single-celled organisms, then there is FUM.
Big pharma want patents & IP, not a vague theory on how the product works and a pending patent on a 'formulation'!!

The FM57 12 week trial was supposed to have been followed by a lenghtier trial....presumably equivalent to the 6 month trial requested by the FDA. Someone recently suggested that they could contact the patients on the original FM57 trial and enrol them on the new trial. If this is possible it would presumably allow for a quicker process....having to recruit totally new ED candidates must be a long process (even if the number is significantly less than on FM57).

Presumably they were expecting to undertake the follow-on trial to FM57 and it would have been fully funded. I wonder where the money went!! Operational expenses I suppose.

theItalian, for one thing I never said 'substantive' delay and for another you cannot possibly know the impact of CoronaVirus on any complex undertaking like a pharma trial. To pretend that there isn't a risk of delays due to a pandemic is plainly absurd...although if you believe the FUM blurb they are impervious to the current situation (being a 'virtual' company).
On a positive note we may have a viable vaccine before the trial tests even take place...fingers crossed.
