they are set up for 2m week in total. So they can't do that figure solely for the govt unless they put their own production on hold? So I expect govt test numbers will be lower.

let's put a lid on talk of 100's of millions of units a year etc, or 6m tests are week. Don't want too much disappointment when figures are well below that imo. If they can get anywhere near the 2m per week total to include the govt work plus their own tests, then that will be great!! But it might come in smaller batches and not one 'headline' figure!

Hickson, there are already numerous rapid tests in the system. Sursecreen have already bagged a £500m contract. There are numerous tests that will be vying for the govt contracts, and many more to come in the near future no doubt. It is a very competitive arena.

Bush, just wondering the impact if numbers are not up to expectations. If the govt are doing it in smaller lots so to speak the numbers might only be perhaps 25m/50m units at a time, and that will make small pi's carp themselves n o doubt?

so they have a capacity of 2m a week. How many of those will be for the govt? Not sure what capacity they need for their 'own' products. Whatever it is they won't be manufacturing 100m tests a year for the govt alone, which some are expecting it seems!

Uppers, yes I suppose it's to cut out the actions of previous 'awards' to mates we can say. Big beady eyes will now look at every tender that goes out, and every penny spent, just like it should be, however they will still internally have their 'preferred' supplier, no doubt.
