In his statement the Chairman talks about ...."increasing shareholder returns". .....it would be nice if we had some "returns" to be "increased"....what do you guys think about the lack of dividends even though the company is making profits?.

If you hold 64 shares or more you should have received a "shareholder card"....its plastic like a credit card....it also has £5 credit on it to be used at Costa. Was in the library yesterday having a look at last week's Investor's Chronicle in which one of the analysts tipped Worst Group as a "Buy"......is there light at the end of the tunnel? (pun intended)

Does anybody know how this proposed £1.2 billion purchase is to be funded?. .....bit annoying in view of the recent cut to our dividend. Perhaps existing HRG shareholders will get shares in Sainsbury's?.

I see that Travelodge has been put up for sale...£1 billion....could Whitbread buy that or would it be deemed contrary to the anti competition laws?.

Just had a look at the email from Capita which said..."you will receive your shareholder vouchers before the end of August 2015".

It seems to me that to receive these vouchers you have to register your interest with Whitbread's registrars (Capita Asset Services on 08448552327 or whitbread@capita.co.uk ) which I recently did but have not received any vouchers to date. You also need to hold 64 shares or more to be eligible. Perhaps you could give them a bell and post the answer on here.

See para 6 of the Chairman's statement....basically he says we are not going to get one........Shame on them. I wonder if we have a claim for being lied to in the Rights Issue documemtation and being induced to subscribe under false pretences?. It clearly states in the Prospectus that........" dividend payments recommence with a final dividend in FY 2014, subject to performance in line with business expectations, as a transition to re-establishing a progressive dividend policy thereafter". We are constantly being told that the business is progressing "in line with business expectations" so where is our divvy?. Any one else feel the same way?.

My thoughts exactly.........in fact at the time of the Rights Issue it was stated on page 13....."In the medium term, as the business performance improves, the Board intends to re-establish a progressive and sustainable dividend policy to target dividend cover of 2 to 2.5 times." Yeh, right..... I think we've all been mugged....

Surprised at this recent rise....perhaps there is some good news heading our way in next week's results (10th June). Watched a programme on TV last night about the Railways which gave First Group a real kicking saying that their Great Western line is one of the most complained about. The overcrowding shown reminded me of those cattle wagons that the Nazis used to transport the Jews in for "resettlement". Given the amount of revenue that this level of overcrowding must produce why is the SP so low and why no dividends?. My friend has worked as a bus driver for First for about 20 years and he has nothing good to say about the management..

The Financial diary above says that Final Results were due on the 14th March.......presumably they have been delayed?.

Think you meant ....."TUESDAY 10th March"...not May..........on 3rd line upo from bottom. Also you say a 51.8p dividend......do you mean cents and not pence?...isn't it 57.2 ?
