I was in Sainsbury's in High Wycombe Friday evening at 6pm and wanted to try on some clothes but when I got to the fitting rooms they were closed as was the adjacent till. This is a massive superstore which closes at 11pm. Went down to the "Customer Services" to complain and was told it was due to a staff shortage. Closing the changing rooms is a regular thing, not just a one-off. Its as if us customers are a real nuisance.

If the dividends amount to 18pence per year then your yield figure of about 6.5% is about right it would seem. I bought mine exactly 5 years ago when the SP was just over 90p so I'm getting nearer 20% yield....happy days. However with such a high yield it is difficult for me to sell them and take my capital gain.

Its eerily quiet on this Board, on the day of year end results. Does anyone have a view re the share price fall even though profits are up. Is it just because of the lack of dividend (again)?.

Very nice to get a 50% increase. Does anyone else on here think that all this seems to be.. "Too good to be true?"....and it will all come crashing down. The SP seems to have doubled this last year and the dividends seem to have gone from 6p to 18p.

Sorry, the info on the "Financial Diary" above is somewhat out of date and the announcement was actually 7/4/2016.

There is a trading announcement tomorrow. Perhaps its good news given the recent rise.

Where did you hear this rumour?. Not sure that you can use the word guaranteed in the context of future share prices but a 25% rise would be excellent.

Dividend (of 3p) was paid last Friday 20th January...I got mine.

If you look at the RNS above there is to be a 3p payment to shareholders on 20th January who were on the register on 23/12/16.

It all seems too good to be true, doesn't it?. Where is the catch?

According to the Hargreaves Lansdowne site the ex dividend date is 15/9/16 and the interim dividend will be paid on 7/10/16. No amounts given but we have been promised 4 yearly interims of 3 pence a share which is double the amounts of late (whole year 6p).

I have been thinking of buying some of these shares but worry that no dividends are being paid. Can anyone explain the reason for this please?.

Point well made mailman. Its just a bit odd that England beat Wales 2-1.

You should have kept STOB. In the last 3 months they have gone up over 56%. Over 22% this last week on the announcement that they are doubling their dividend and returning £300 million to shareholders.

Just watched the videoclip posted below (thanks Kenny) in which Tinkler (sounding nearly as boring as my old geography teacher) says that they will be returning £300 million to shareholders. If that is the case this works out at around 87pence per share!. Well done Tinkler and all Stobart staff.

In the RNS it says that they are looking at a quarterly (starting October) dividend of 3p which would give 12p per year...ie double what they have recently been paying. Give me a nudge so I can wake up and stop dreaming.

I think the main problem is that there have not been any dividends paid for around 3 years and no sign that they will be. If the SP hit £1-50 I would sell with a big sigh of relief.

Aldi and Lidl are both German retailers....neither is Spanish. Aldi is the bigger of the two.
