I don't see much point in buying GSK now - you would be paying the same per share as before the split but only getting 80% of what the company used to be. Glad I sold.

Could Unilever bid for the rest of haleon & get it for much less than they would have paid GSK?

I read somewhere that GSK will "consolidate" it's new shares back to the pre-split price. Does that mean (say) that 80 (new) GSK shares will be issued to replace 100 old ones? Bit confused.

Is that right? - if so it seems you got your £3.20 HLN shares for nothing.

It appears to be about 20% HLN & 80% GSK and on the present showing slightly down on Friday's close. Let's see how the prices settle in a day or two.

Maybe clued but we (the markets?) don't like uncertainty. I hope you get a lift when the demerger happens but I feel OK being out at the moment. It's just how you feel.

If we all just stay schtum and/or praise the management, MB may well think he's off the hook & OK to waste another year or two. About time they showed some results for their salaries.

I think dividends (frequency & amount) depend upon the performance year on year of the company. Unless something has been promised in advance (?) it's a case of wait & see.

Clued - not sure what you mean (and I'm by no means an expert). TBH I sold my holding at 1800 & will wait to see what happens after the 18th before deciding whether or not to buy back into either company.

It would be nice to hear some of the old excuses again - "It's the MMs playing games" was one of my favourites!

And permissions obtained for the right to do that with associated well-head constructions & transport /marketing strategies in place. I don't think (?) I have ever denigrated the company or MB but I hope they are progressing these issues & not just hiding a corner from the environmentalists!

Not gonna happen - that's why folks are concentrating on the *bigger* picture.

The overall value of your GSK plus Haleon share should be at or about the same as now but it is unlikely to be split equally between the 2 companies which is what your 50/50 statement suggests.

No - not at all. The SPs will reflect the Mkt Cap of each co.

yes jimi - some of those predicting PM oil revenues (IF we ever get any) at $100+ per barrel seem to have conveniently forgotten that GoM might like to have a share of that!
