Any attempt to value this IP could meet with problems in a buyout negotiation IMO.

My thoughts are that TMAC might be the subject referred to in the 19.09.23 RNS, and aTMAC update is to be presented?

TMAC® is a new class of drug conjugate for which the Company has made a patent application with Tufts University Medical School.

So might further patents now be pending.

A significant part of the recent RNS you did not quote backs up your opinion - viz:

"The excellent safety profile of AVA6000 should allow more frequent and/or higher dosing compared with the standard doxorubicin regimen which could in turn improve the outcome for patients. Therefore, in parallel with the completion of cohort 7, the Company intends to begin a short study to explore more frequent dosing (fortnightly) of AVA6000 as a first line treatment in patients with soft tissue sarcoma. Significantly

o The study is expected to begin in Q4 2023 (ie real soon) and

o ...subject to receipt of approval of a protocol amendment from the US Food & Drug Administration (FDA).

So yes, Novacyt are running the 'short study', but it seems it's the FDA who have their foot on the gas pedal, providing approval of a protocol amendment almost immediately.

This paragraph appears in the same RNS:

"In light of the positive data emerging from the ALS-6000-101 study the Company has adapted its clinical development strategy with the aim of bringing forward the start of a potentially pivotal phase 2 study in soft tissue sarcoma, subject to receiving the necessary regulatory approvals."

The FDA aren't running the show, but they are bending over backwards to increase the pace of trial progression.

I wonder who's idea the parallel Cohort 7 / short study was?

I think the idea of Tufts moving away from the exclusive precision license they have provided to Avacta is not valid, but I assume such an event has happened before, and it must have got very messy for the license provider. Not good in litigious USA.

The interest in the exclusive license is clear. Perhaps the real interest though is in the non-exclusive license. 😮

WBAFC - The speed with which integration occurs together with the speed of Yourgene and Novacyt product development, - and the cost of such to the Novacyt coffers - is of prime importance.

This doesn't feature in your post, but the importance of speed is there in JM's presentation, - sorry this is long winded but needs must:

Yes, we are. I mean, I think it's a favourable market at the moment. I think we still have a strong balance sheet. And, I think we will still remain active in the market. If we see something that makes sense, that accelerates our strategy and fits. I'd like to think we will pursue that, maybe not something quite as big as Yourgene, but there's a lot out there. So absolutely, we've got to remain focused on M&A.

Perhaps high on the priority list is that the target is financially distressed, and can be acquired for a fraction of book value.

Having gone through the text, I have noted a few changes to the transcript - in square brackets - as follows:

3 So we've got to get rid of mum's bloods, we've got to get rid of all the interfering substances and find a tiny, tiny little bit of cell-free DNA that has come from the fetus and has travelled down through the, into mum's bloodstream. This range of technology basically in Layman's terms allows you to clean up that sample really, really quickly. And it allows you to do it with automated machinery so you can feed the sample in and then a bit of time later you get yourself free [your cell free] DNA out which is the stuff that you sequence to be able to give your patient a result.

4 Excuse me, I think for, in terms of my last slide, just a bit of an update, as Steve said, with regard to where we are for figures. We finished last year's unordered [unaudited] at the moment at around about GBP19.1 million worth of revenue
