At the moment we don't know what happened. Something behind the scenes or just trump? It could be nothing at all. I don't expect anything until mid to end September either. Nice having a rise, but it might not mean anything. Hold your horses, and your shares.

I suspect OVO news will add further upside, and in general with yields falling and falling, investors will start looking at this again for divis.

How many shares are they buying back? For once a share buyback that does the SP some good.

Trump will need to start trying to pump up the Dow as he thinks that is a good way of securing votes.
Hopefully his move will come in time for us.

John, yes it might be. Or it might be a way of losing everything you already had in here, plus whatever you are chucking in to reduce your average. I have bought a few more today, but I am well aware of the gamble. Total loss is a possibility, however unlikely.

I just hope the low sp won't become a self full filling prophecy. Bond investors are going to wonder why they are buying 500m worth of bonds in a company that in itself is only worth 500m, there or there abouts.

Odd that a competitor would try to talk us down.

There is still every chance thos will work out. In a way this "trial run" was a good excersize to make sure we know what it takes to get them away in September. The bonds were never intended to be sold as early as August, were they now.

Yes John. I agree. I would expect some commentary from the bod this week really to appease the people who got sxx where it is today.

Let's not worry too much though. If the bod think the bonds won't sell as is, they will put attach the necessary sweeteners to make sure they will.
That's my thoughts on this anyway.
The only shame is that I could have bought my current holding for a fraction of my average. And that gripes me.

I don't know. I think it is too early to tell if big ii's sold, as they would take a few days to react and report through tr1's. And I also think it is to early to tell if the works continue "a pace" as they say, as it is hard to slow thing down quickly if they had been scheduled for months.
Next weeks developments will tell a story though.

Pets was shorted twice as much as sxx. Check their chart. Shorts got well burned.

I am saying there is no credible alternatives apart from selling the HY bond at this late stage.
If the sp was higher, say in the 20's, I would have said let's go for a share raise.

Sxx/jpm need to sell the bonds early September. There is no need or scope for a plan b.

I also don't think it is a good idea to give the FT even more fodder so that they can put out another article about the poor sxx shareholders who were dumb enough to invest in sxx when the writing of doom was apparently on the wall.

I would suggest we remember that the bond was pulled due to unfortunate market conditions. Which they were. I accept that they won't necessary improve by September. Therein lies the risk with this share now, and it only takes to tweet to send us over the cliff.
But if the yields improve we are back in business!!

Would never work. Because each of those 85000 investors would think, why should I risk 5k, if the other 84999 investors are doing it. That's your dilemma right there. It would only work if all of the 85000 investors would somehow be forced to buy the 5k bonds. There is a psychological experiment that explains the dilemma, just can't remember what it was called.
