Germany is still doing well despite the so called recession. Remember their numbers are real. UK has probably been in a much deeper recession for much longer but the numbers where faked.

Cannot agree 100% with you on that, because a dividend cut would be perceived as a necessary step to preserve cash reserves. A cry for help really, something that is done when cashflows and profits are not what they were, or what they should be.

It isnt the BoE's or ECB's job to prevent market sell off's.

They provide stimulus to support the economy perhaps. The stock market regulates itself.
