Again, Japan has experience actual economic growth over the last few years. The UK has not.

That's why the FTSE is flatlining.

The problem for the UK is its growth has been disastrous over the last 7 years. So when an economy has hardly grown compared to its peers, its much harder to have a big recession, because the UK economy was on the rock bottom anyway.

Germany and its EU peers had done very well, so its much more likely for a technical recession to occur, but overall, they are still way ahead.
