The UK is doing shambolic. The CAC and the DAX are both 50% up compared to the FTSE over a 5 year period.

The companies cash in the bank is only a very small factor in the calculation of the market capitalization, so your argument is flawed. You are confusing the companies cash position with market capitalization (worth).

Many companies are in net debt after assets and liabilities are factored in, and yet their market capitalization is positive, not negative, because revenues, profits and cash flow are bigger factors for the MC.

For the buybacks to have maximum effect, we want the share price as low as possible.

We know the low SP is only artificial, but for what it is worth, if it could go lower for the buybacks would be ideal.

Always does surprise me that people with no vested interest in the share invest so much time in posting negatives about the share on a bulletin board. What's the agenda? And don't tell me there isn't one.

Miners generally were down today, add to that the dividend explains the drop, which is nothing out of the ordinary. Tomorrow could bring a further drop, or 5% up, no one knows. But I know I'd rather be in than out.

I am afraid the system does not take the time stamp into account, and in any even, many trades do not get posted until later on.

This is why many trades are only posted after close.

If you dont know then I suggest you do some research on it, but dont post until you are sure.

Otherwise please feel free to explain yourself why the SP often goes up despite showing more sells than buys and vice versa. I am curious.

Jesteh, it is not being MANIPULATED as you put it.

The system is guessing if it is a buy or a sell based on whether the transaction price is closer to the ask or the bid price. The problem is there is at least a 15 minute time delay between excecuting and posting the transaction. So by the time the transaction is posted, the share price will have moved either up or down, meaning a sell can be posted as a buy and vice versa. The more volatile the sp, the bigger the errors.

Do not rely on bought/sold volumes.

You do know that bought and sold volumes are at the very best vaguely correct, and more usually completely wrong right?

Actually it's not. Their job is to run the business. What the share price does is a byproduct.

Why do you expect the bod to keep a running commentary on the share price? That's not their job.

It is not the bods priority to increase the share price and neither should it be. It's the by product of revenue and profits and that's what they need to focus on. Not your sp.

Making tough decisions to make the business more efficient?

Like selling of unprofitable parts of the business? Just an example, Spain and Italy? Yes, management should really look into that.

Garonne, your daily suffering is so easy to fix by selling. But you won't sell, you prefer to suffer. It's insanity.

I don't suffer because I am going to hold these shares for the next 20 years so daily, monthly and even annual ups and downs don't bother me. But you are looking at this daily. You should not be investing. Stick it in a savings account where your capital can't go down .
