Beating an old drum, but the reality is RNS states the mystery contract party is a "Global" player. Many of the alternatives proposed are not "Global" players. However, Mircosoft are "global". They have been in China for 20+ years, developing trusted relations that will be second to none in these circs. Bytedance will trust them in this crisis as there is a long term commercial relation. Then we've got Microsoft making contact with DT trying to rescue the situation (on behalf of Bytedance?), and now given to 15 Sept. (why do that: because they have an ear in both camps and a trusted connection with Bytedance and China). If its not Mircosoft.......I'll eat my shorts! (Pun....not shorting). Mircrosoft is the only player that can rescue this for Bytedance and US consumers. Bytedance will trust Mircosoft and DT will trust MS to secure US data. Conjecture.....however reasoned. Hi Oil_beast: Last thought for today is that DT will need to sanction this. Who do you think he will trust most to keep USA data secure? Any competitor could end up in significant difficulty if they chase this and DT says no.

Equally, you could be right oil_beast. I think key here (unless there is a leak) is that we won't hear further until the Bytedance contract has been signed off. From Bytedance's point of view, I imagine they would perceive Mircosoft as having the most resources, the best reputation, the financial ability to follow through on a long term relationship, and the current favour of DT. Who knows....but we will find out!

I am over thinking this, I know, but what I think we are seeing is the TikTok east/west split. Bytedance would I believe prefer to keep s relationship with 7Dig. On this west side of the fence there are parties vying to fill the space. But what Bytedance will want a long term relationship between east/west platforms across all apps to benefit both sides long term. 7Dig is unwittingly right in the middle of that transition. We know that Mircosoft has negotiated with DT to extend until 15 Sept. Remember DT will have the last word regardless of competitive manoeuvrings this side of the fence. Yip, seen that. The contract party I assume has a plan B and its needs time. It would take a long time indeed to create a 7Dig system (years) so I assume, this is not the plan B. Leave your imagination to figure what the plan B is.

Assuming contract relates to TikTok reshuffle then I would guess whomever is dealing with Bytedance is the contract party (or could be another trying to create a block). But assuming it is a party interested in taking on TicTok and perhaps even WeChat and other apps, then they would also be interested in blocking any competitor from contracting with 7Dig meantime. If I was in the position I would contract for no new contracts until 15 Sept and pay a significant premium for that exclusivity. Then I would suppose 7Dig could be the target for an offer once the TicTok issue has been resolved, which should be by 15 Sept. That would allow me to block the competition longer term. Yes the competition could create another version of the 7Dig platform, but that would take time, and my that time, I would be off and running. Pure conjecture. My imaginings only. IMHO DYOR and GL

Don't think we are a T/O target as too little in free float.....but given the pivotal position 7dig finds itself in, I would not be surprised by an offer.........from the global entity with which we have just contracted. IMHO DYOR

Key here is that Bytedance will engage (I think) in a partnership with a western company for not just Tiktoc, but for Wechat and many other Chinese based social media apps. This will happen.....when or whom with is the only question and they've got 28 days left to get it sorted.
