Apicell Therapeutics is a company specializing in the development of next-generation cell and gene therapies, established jointly by Daewoong Pharmaceutical and Avacta Life Science in the UK. Based on mesenchymal stem cell platform technology, we are developing next-generation cell and gene therapies optimized for immunoregulation by fusing Affimer platform technology to enhance immune regulation function. We are currently preparing for a phase 1 clinical trial with the US FDA, and we would like to have a Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) who can oversee the R&D process and establish a strategy.
His responsibilities include overseeing the development of cell and gene therapies, formulating innovative scientific strategies, building partnerships with academia and industry, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements to effectively drive research outcomes.
Qualifications include a doctoral degree or higher, more than 15 years of corporate experience, leadership, cell and gene therapy development expertise, and clinical trial experience.

■ Main Business
- Oversee research and development (R&D) and are responsible for recruiting, nurturing, and managing scientific talent to maximize team performance
- Establish the company's scientific strategy and set R&D goals and directions to promote sustainable innovation
- Oversee clinical development strategies, including preparation and execution of Phase 1 clinical trials, and lead collaborations with the FDA and other regulatory agencies
- Establish collaborative relationships with academia, industry, and other research institutions to expand joint research and development opportunities
- Manage R&D budgets and optimize resource allocation to increase project efficiency
- Effectively communicate research results to internal and external stakeholders and represent the company's scientific vision
- Discover future growth engines and establish new business strategies
■ Qualifications
- Ph.D. in biopharmaceutical field with more than 15 years of corporate experience in related fields
- Have an in-depth understanding of FDA and other global regulatory processes and requirements
- Experience in R&D team management and strategic leadership. - Innovative scientific thinking and problem-solving skills
- Experience in building academic and industry networks
■ Preferred Qualifications
- Former domestic and foreign cell and gene therapy R&D companies
- Experience in responding to regulatory agencies such as FDA/EMA/KFDA and in new drug development
